Q: I can’t get the rocket-like black stabilizers to stay in. Is there a trick?

Push down hard and they should pop in. We actually duct taped ours on as there was no need to remove them once placed the first time.

Q: How far does it launch the balls?

About 5 or 6 feet up in the air (eye-level for an adult). Over my son’s head, but he hits it on the way down.
