it does ring decent loud, but if ur a biker and you know how it is to bike on bike paths or on sideway with other people walking. with the people listing to music and older people, hearing this bell isnt good enough. i will be getting something louder in the future. yea they both broke on their own... one lasted awhile, but broke, and the 2nd one broke in days

easy to install and works great

When I went for my first bike ride with this bell after I installed it, it was dinging on every crack and bump I hit in the road. However I tightened the bell while I was riding. I just twisted it clockwise and that stopped all the problems. It worked well while I was biking the rest of my trek. It was very loud and clear and I liked that it had rang when I pushed the lever forward and then also when I let the lever go. People on the bike trails heard it and scooted over for me. So as long as it remains tight, I will give this a good review. If it starts loosening up I’ll come back and update my review. 3 and 1/2 months later: I really like the smell but it only lasted 3 and 1/2 months. The inside parts are plastic and they just aren’t very high-quality. However for the price and getting two bells, it’s not horrible. But I ordered an all metal bill to replace these.
