Excellent pump and flow rate
I bought this because my garden flooded. The multi-hose adapter that comes with it doesn't really work with ordinary 1/2" hose. Dip the end in hot water first to soften it. I have bought a 40mm corrugated pipe and that works far better. It is quite tall but seems to work ok. Having deepened my soakaway and installed some French drains, now it's down to the commissioning phase.

How to fit a 15mm Hose
Fitting 15mm hoseThe pump works fine but not in very shallow water for shallow water I put it in a tub and scoop water in to the tub or use a small bilge pumpFitting a 15mm hose is difficult. Many reviews have said it can't be done and people have bought 19mm hose.To fit the hose you need heat it in hot water (near boiling, please be careful) and then insert a wide object to expand it. I used the handle of some pliers. You then need to put it on the multi-adaptor and screw the connector tight. Don't forget to put the grey locking cap on the hose first before placing the hose on the adapter.

Good product
Used for draining our hot-tub. Just throw it in and away it goes!

Great value compared with hire costs
Easy to set up and pumps at a fair rate. Garden constantly floods pending work to be done. Up to 9 inches during recent storms. Clears whole garden in 2 hours. Best to create a small dip in order to drain to the lowest point.

Beware
Beware a normal diameter garden hose will not fit. The connector is too wide. The adapter recommended on the box I cannot find anywhere, even on the internet. The advert recommends cutting the stem to the threaded area but it’s still too large for a normal connector. Hazelock have a customer services working only 10am to 2pm 5 days a week.

Very leaky
Managed to get this pump to work, after getting a soaking on a freezing morning when the hose fitting blew off. After I had bound the fitting to the unit, the leakage was limited to an acceptable lever and the pump successfully removed enough water from our pond to stop the overflow. I was using a standard hose, which might explain some of the problem I had, but this facility was why I had bought it - it should do what it is designed to do, but the hose fitting seems of poor quality compared to the ones on our ordinary hoses. All of that said, the pump itself was left to work for 24 hours in cold conditions, in a large garden pond. It never blocked and did a good job of moving the water to a drain 25 metres away from the pond.

Cheap for a reason.
This could be a good value for money pump but.......beware the outlet fitting isn't a std Hozelock connection like you'd have on your garden hoses and the fitting on it to connect a hose is larger than a normal garden hose. I managed to sort the connection but then I found the quick connection to the pump leaks, the connection seems to move back and forth so I'm not sure if this is designed to release pressure/water here if the hose outlet at the other end gets restricted. The unit also arrived with a split in the cable near the plug end which is very poor quality and not particularly safe.

Ok pump, but far from perfect
It's an ok pump, the main issues like others of this type I suspect is the poor connectivity between the pump and the hose, mine seemed to leak a lot. Then my other gripe was that it stopped pumping the water from my hot tub long before it should have in my view so it's either burnt out already or the float stopped it before it should have. So ok, but not that impressed it it. Reasonable flow rate, but like all these pumps, why can't they just work off a standard hozelock connector into a regular hosepipe? They should be able to take the pressure. Not sure when I'll try mine next to find out if it's broken or not, but most likely September. So as you might gather a standard hose won't fit this you'll need to grab something to do the job, I got a 1" flat hosepipe for 15 quid that is 10m long from Screwfix, you can also get these on Amazon of course.
