I can't say I've read it cover to cover yet, but I've looked over the entries of several of my favorite and I've been very pleased. There are SO MANY amazing Marvel ladies in this, seriously. As someone who grew up loving superheroes and reading comic books and wishing for more women in the stories, this is like a dream come true to have them all in one book. (And the artwork, in case you didn't hear it enough from the other reviews already, is AMAZING.) One of the things I love the most about it is that it not only includes a lot of familiar faces I already love, but it has quickly introduced me to a couple of characters that were relatively unknown to me (for example, the FIRST female Captain Marvel!! And it's not Carol Danvers!!). And it's deliberately diverse, showcasing women of all different races and backgrounds. I also personally appreciated that it finds a way to mingle traditional comic book "canon" with some of the MCU versions of characters. I find this smart, because I know a lot of people who are more familiar with the movies and shows than the comics (which have various and often muddled storylines anyway). If you have a Marvel-loving-lady in your life, I highly recommend getting her this beautiful encyclopedia of badass heroines. Review: Fantastic Intro to the Women of Marvel - This is an excellently written and well thought out book. Lorraine Cink knows her super hero ladies and puts that knowledge to good use. Each hero has an indepth entry that goes into how they got started and where they are now within the Marvel Universe. To back that up, the artwork by Alice X. Zhung is absolutely GORGEOUS. The book is definitely geared towards young adults (12-16) but DO NOT let that deter you! This book is great read and well worth the read, especially if you're new to the Marvel Universe.

Appropriate for kids
I bought this for my 9yo and 12yo daughters who are really getting into Marvel. While the writing can be a little dense for the younger one, this book keeps some characters (ahem... Black Widow) pretty PG, which I appreciate. With a page or two about each character's origins and powers, it was a great intro to characters they didn't yet know and provided a little more info on those they did. The consistent artwork throughout is G-rated, which again is greatly appreciated.

Gorgeously Illustrated
This is gorgeously illustrated and a great gift for fans who love the Marvel universe or young, new fans who want to learn more about the female characters from the Marvel comic book universe. There are also some little-known characters in the book! I always get comments on this book since I keep it on my coffee table and guests love to browse through the artwork. Highly recommend!

Girl/Women Superheroes!!!
This book is well written but concise enough for kids to keep their attention. LOve that it is only focused on women superhero's. Beautiful pictures. Well written. Young girls and adults will love this book. Hope to se more of this sort of thing in the future.

Granddaughter loves it
Got this for granddaughter, 10 bday, and is a huge Marvel fan. Especially the female characters. I will admit to being a little scared when it arrived. She doesn't like to read and it had a lot of small print and a page and a half with each character. The pics that went with each character are beautiful. It also has a back story for each one. Well she picked it up and thumbed through it and read a couple of pages and said, Oh my gosh I didn't know that happened. This book is going with me everywhere! Yay! Score one for me. She's reading and it's a subject she loves. And she even said I have to take care of this cause of nice pages and pictures. Book is so worth your money. Even adults would probably enjoy this if they are fans.

Gorgeous book, fun read
This book is beautiful. It is full of characters I knew and many I didn’t. My children (7 & 4) like to pick a superhero and I can read all about that one woman in a few minutes but it is fun to also read in order. The writing style is easy and fun. The illustrations are gorgeous I just want them on a poster I can hang up. Highly recommend for any superhero fan (girl or boy) in your life.

This is a wonderful book. Seeing females and different ethnicities in Marvel Art has really peaked their interest (both aged 5) -they see people who look like them as heroes and it means the world to them The context is mature enough for them to grow with the book but as parents we can talk and create
