Works great for holding my bear spray when hiking

Very nicely made storage for shoulder straps. I use the larger pouch for a large pepper spray canister. Great for additional storage for items you use regularly or need easy access.

I found it too in the way attached to the shoulder strap. I have returned it and will get a simple water bottle holder. I think it would be great for the side or back of a backpack, it's just too wide and bulky for a shoulder strap
