Excellent boots.
These are absolutelyexcellent boots.I've had these boots for almost six years now. Used mostly for gardening and archaeological digs, they've had a lot of wear and yet have withstood all weathers and use in muddy, gritty, rocky conditions. There are very few signs of wear and tear and I reckon they'll be good for years of wear yet. They're lightweight, comfortable and robust though I have to say I initially found the insole a bit hard on my feet so added a more comfortable padded insole which worked a treat. If I ever have to get a new pair of boots I hope that these will still be available as these are absolutely great and very, very reasonably priced.

The vents down the side are great for the summer heat
Obviously not waterproof. The vents down the side are great for the summer heat, and give some flex to eliminate the usual painful extended wearing-in.The finish on the leather is durable, and has withstood a damp, salty freezer without issue. Comfortable fit, but not very roomy vertically if you're using insoles.Plenty of grip, at least when new, and compact enough for easy driving.Very tight/small fit, which was probably a factor in destroying four sets of liquid-filled insoles over the year I've owned them.Lasted just over a full year before losing stitching and the soles starting to wear thin. Salt damage has not compromised the leather, and it's withstood a surprising amount of damage.

Good, lightweight, long wearing boot.
I'm a female and size 6-7. I buy size 6 in mens workboots and most brands fit well including these!. I cover a lot of ground, 4 days a week in these on a farm and they have been brilliant! I have had them many months now and they have so far remained waterproof in weather conditions and on grass etc. I have treated with dubbing and waterproof spray once when a few weeks old just for added protection and to prevent the inevitable cracking where the foot bends. Will re do this soon. Sole still fully in tact, footbed v comfortable, nice and wide for full toe spread. Hope these are available when I need to rebuy! Hope this helps!

Lot better than previous pair I bought. Comfy, light, durable

Ludicrously hard to put on!
These are fairly cheap and quite light too, the fit is on the small side. Comfortable once you have managed to get them on!Unfortunately, the toecap is not very high so there is not much vertical space for the toes - to the extent that my big toe is quite often touching it, not ideal if they are to be used for work where the end of the boot endures a lot of contact (as your toe feels it!).Careful of the veins on the top of your feet with these, putting them on requires both dexterity and brute force. Would be very hard to get on in a car or van.Maybe for the next design they will put some more thought into what their product is actually like to use.

I'd still like a decent bit of footwear
I cannot vouch for the durability or how fit-for-purpose it is, as I'm a lazy layabout with no purpose in life. However, I'd still like a decent bit of footwear.Firstly, the fit; I take a size 8, and with recent purchases have found massive variability in the sizes offered. When I got these, I immediately compared them with my size 9 slippers sole to sole and found the size 8 boot to be longer. Madness! When I finally stuck them on my feet, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they fit very well, and as a bonus appeared to be quite a wide fitting. I had normal socks on, and would feel that thicker socks would be fine.Secondly, although not having worn them for long, I didn't have any problems breaking them in. As mentioned above, the wide fitting initially felt that they were too large, but I soon got used to the different sensation of a different boot. On a more practical level, I've been wearing them in the recent weather and this has demonstrated that the grip in less than ideal conditions is quite good and felt confident enough to walk along normally, which was probably helped by the lightness of the boot.I have only two minor gripes, firstly that from the wearers' point of view the boot has an unmistakeable air of the bowling alley shoe about it, something which the orange highlights unfortunately enhances. Secondly, the plastic eyelets need looking at, as although they function perfectly well at keeping the laces in place and the boot done up, when undoing the laces some of the eyelets have sharp edges which will shred your laces. I have futureproofed against this by buying some spare laces and also by the simple expedient of slightly lifting the eyelet to pull the lace through when undoing. In summary; I use this as a walking boot and the price is more than competitive with some 'specialist' walking boots, with the added bonus of stronger assembly, and hopefully durability.9.92 recurring/10 - would consider the possibility of thinking about contemplating the probability of purchasing again.

Too small
As soon as I opened the box and took the boots out the first thing that came to mind was that they looked really small for a size 11. I tried them on and my toes were squashed. I compared the overall size with another size 11 boot I had and they were noticeably smaller. I would expect that from a boot made in China as their sizing is different but these were made in Britain so can't understand how the sizing could be so way off. Sent back and got a refund. Seller was great in all of this, had no problem at all with them.

Too Small
They do the job, I work on quarries and asphalt plants, and drive loading shovels, all of which can be easily done with these boots, they look like old school brogues, are comfortable, worth the money, but the 11s feel like 10s, could of definitely done with a 12, which is why there's no fifth star
