Well I found an easy solution. Listen up
This life-like boa tree snake is teriffic. I bought three items to scare away the pesky squirrels away from my yard that were digging up the back yard and burying their peanuts which neighbors (for some reason) feed them. Here's my review of the three items, including this rubber snake.**I have a severe squirrel infestation problem back yard, needed to find a way to drive them away. Read on. This Lifelike OWL from Ohuhu, is teriffic. Yes, some are complaining that the battery compartment (3 AAA) is at the base, and is difficult to mount. Well I found an easy solution. Listen up! Check around your garage, and look for something to mount the OWL upon. I found a plastic flower pot, about 12" tall. And this is where the project became easy. Here's what I did.1. Drilled a 5/8" hole at the base of the flower pot. (turned it upside down) (later for mounting this way)2. Used one of wife's tin baking pans, about 8"X4" (apprx) and mounted it to the base with two phillips head screws, and drilled the same 5/8" hole in this pan.3. Used a coca cola plastic 8oz clear plastic bottle, drilled a 5/8" hole at the bottom.4. Used a 5/8" x3" with a hex head that would cover the hole of the bottle from the inside.5. Tricky but easy. Take a plastic tie 8" and super glue it to the bolt, allow to dry 5 minutes.6. Open the cola bottle with the cap, and put it aside for a minute.7. With the plastic tie now mounted to the end of the hex head bolt, slowly slip it thru the neck of the cola bottle. Then the bolt easily slides through the drilled opening.8. Turn the plastic vase sideways, and slowly slide the bolt threads sticking out of the base of the cola bottle, into the "interior" without shoving the bolt back into the bottle. Then take hold of the bolt and put pressure on it sideways to screw on the 5/8" nut.Ahhhh, easy right? Read on9. Now I take a piece of 3' copper 3/8" tube found in the garage ( you can use pvc or whatever for the stake. Cut a hole the same diameter as the tube, into the CAP of the cola bottle. Then slid the tube through it, nice and tight Yaaaa! Tighten down the cap, so that the tube touches the base of the cola bottle. This keeps wind from blowing the plastic vase around. Everything still nice and tight.10. Place the OWL into the baking pan, which will fit snugly; yet can still fall out in a wind. Simply drill a hole at the side of the baking pan, and into the owl right near the lip of the baking pan. This secures the OWL to the baking pan. Everything is working good now.11. Carry the completed mounted OWL now from your working area, and shove the tube into the ground about 9-12 inches. Turn the tube so that the OWL faces the direction most likely where the squirrel critters makes a path between trees. I took a photo of it, will try to attach it here. And now, guess what? The squirrels are scared to no end, as this OWL has a "hoot - hoot- hoot" that triggers off with sound when they approach the path of the OWL which has a motion sensor that comes with the OWL. WOW! They stop dead in their tracks, and scoot away. For the past couple of days now, no sign of the squirrels. But - there's more....I found on amazon some rubber snakes. Bought two of them, both 5-feet long and very lifelike. Used two small nails in two trees to mount them. Wrapped a 6" wire around the body, below the neck, about 4 inches, and another about 4 inches from the tail. This - so that it appears the snakes are climbing up the trees sniffing around. Holy Hanna! They are scared beyond belief, again stopping dead in their tracks, because its the trees that they nest and breed in. If you buy these snakes, look at the green one on Amazon from "FUN LAVIE" and the tree boa snake from "SAFARI LTd" - both are fulfillment companies associated with Amazon. Now with those three 'fakes" Its nice to see the squirrels so far not sticking around. And oh, by the way. If you need to change the triple AAA batteries, using this method, simply remove the one single screw at the side of the baking pan (which I spray painted black instead of the tinny aluminum appearance),and the OWL easily slips out for replacement batteries and reinstall.Just goes to show you, when there's a WILL - there's a WAY to get your squirrels away (and other critters), with some odd-ball stuff laying around in the garage to make a mounting for the OWL. Remember putting it on the ground, doesn't provide the appearance of 'ready to fly" and swoop OWL. You need to be at least 2-3 feet above the grown, to permit the appearance of the OWL is looking and searching for prey.Hope this works for you, it was fun to putter around figuring out a solution. The OWL has to be sturdy, as it is light weight. So mounting it and giving it stability from wind or tipping over, is the solution you must work towards achieving. I've shared my method, if it works for me, it should work for you. My best, RPM in sunny East Coast of Florida.

I am disappointed with this toy
I am disappointed with this toy. It is definitely not 56 inches. I even stretched it out to be sure. It is also not true to the color in the picture. It's more of a brown and tan, not yellow at all. This isn't a huge deal, however I bought it for the color. My son loves yellow. The way the head and neck curve is also odd looking. I would not buy this again. I will however keep it. My son loves snakes and I'm sure he'll still play with it. I was however not impressed with this product.

Safari ltd Amazon tree boa
HiVery happy overall. My only complaint is that I wish some of safari ltd figures from the 90s were more available such as the emerald tree boa ,monitor lizards, and other reptiles that are life like and life sized. I'm may write to safari ltd and put a bug in their ear lol. Thanks again!!!

Realistic toy snake and my measurements of it
I bought this snake for the sole purpose of scaring people. It is realistic, so most people I've tried to scare think it's a real snake and are really surprised. It is a little smaller than I was expecting, so I took measurements and pictures so that others can have a better idea of what to expect. When in its relaxed/normal position, this snake is 18 inches long and 6 inches at the widest part. The thickest portion of the snake body is a little less than one inch. In the pic I attached, you can see the dimensions relative to U.S. currency and a ruler.

Lifelike, detailed, and very small.
This is tiny! We were looking for a snake for a Halloween costume, a snake closer to a large boa see frequently in music videos. This is nowhere near that size, a huge disappointment when we got it. On the positive side, this snake is as lifelike as I'd want for its small size, with good detail and coloring. Not what I was hoping for though.

Nice Price for Fake Snake
My granddaughter wants a pet snake, but her parents aren't in favor of it, so I ordered this one for her. Since it isn't real, she wasn't exactly thrilled, but it is realistic enough and seems durable. This snake is permanently curved and can't be straightened out. One reviewer said that the head seems small, but many pictures of these snakes show a small head. After reading about amazon boas, I think I would not want a real one! All in all, I'm satisfied with this purchase and the price was right.

Treehouse Defender
We had a robin's nest in our swingset treehouse for a good part of the summer. We watched the birds daily until they finally left the nest. After they left, I pressure washed all the poop out of there and bought this snake to scare away the birds. My two year old son moves it almost every day. He says, "I moved the fake snake so the birdies think it's weal." The robins haven't been back yet, so we're happy and my son can play on his swingset without being attacked. :-D

Looks Dead.
My purpose in using this product is to scare away birds from my yard, but when my daughter saw it on the ground, she thought it was dead. Colors are pale, almost yellow and not like the photo. Also has a tiny head. I've seen birds eat snakes like this in Florida, so I'm not sure if it will work
