Great combo of bread tools for the beginning baker.
This is a great little proofing basket, Andy my first sourdough loaves turned out perfectly after proofing in the fridge overnight. Provided that the cloth is well floured, I did not have problems with the dough sticking the next morning. The little spatula has been invaluable for shaping dough, scraping it away from the edges of metal bowls, and it has enough of an edge to divide dough when needed. I’m just getting started with baking sourdoughs, but I think I will be using these two tools for a lot of my loaves.

Works Beautifully
Great proofing basket! Sourdough and regular breads look beautiful! Very happy with this product.

Flat & small
The photos are misleading as to the size of the dough scraper and bowl. The bowl is not very deep for the dough to rise in, and the dough scraper is small and a bit thin. Overall I'm a bit deflated, especially after reading the previous reviews.

For those new to bread baking (like me) and professional bakers alike!
Whether you're a professional baker or an amateur (like me!) who wants to attempt his or her own loaf, I highly recommend adding these tools to your arsenal!I used the proofing basket and dough scrapper to make my first ever sourdough bread from scratch! The dough scrapper made my 100% hydration whole wheat/rye dough much easier to handle. What's more, the basket beautifully shapes a round country loaf, leaving with the rings seen on artisan breads. I followed the recommendation to wet the inside of the basket and coat it with a layer of flour, let it dry on, and then add another layer of flour each time I proof a loaf. Couldn't be more happy! As shown in the photo, rings are clearly visible (sorry, I don't have a picture of the whole loaf since I ate half of the shorter loaf before taking a picture)! Both loaves shown, I proofed in the basket, but as you can see there is less flour on the taller loaf. This is because I didn't add enough flour before proofing the it causing it to stick to the basket and then land lopsided into the ceramic dish I baked it in. So be generous withe the dusting of flour in the basket before you put you proof your dough!I should also note that the taller loaf of the two pictured was baked in a smaller ceramic dish as opposed to a larger dutch oven for the first. The second loaf was less dense and full of more air cavities than the first loaf, but I don't think it was due to the size of the dish, but rather the longer proof I gave the second loaf. Either way though, the basket certainly helped give the dough a good rise. Good luck on your bread endeavors, and happy baking!

Great for beginners
I’m just getting started making sourdough bread and after lots of reading I decided to use a proofing basket. I saw this on Amazon and for the price decided I couldn’t go wrong. I’m happy to say it was worth the money. Not only is the basket well made it comes with a linen liner and plastic scraper. I used all three. There are directions for getting the basket ready which I followed. I hope to get lots of use and many pretty loaves out of this proofing basket.
