User friendly
These digital binoculars are exactly what I was looking for. I watched the tutorials so I would be familiar with it before they arrived. I did have to buy the recommended micro SD card, as the ones I have wouldn’t work properly with the device. Picture quality is excellent. Haven’t tried night vision yet but I’m sure it will be as excellent as day time mode. One thing I’m not sure about is if the firmware updated as I never seen the logo animation for it. So I may contact customer service about that. Even tho they are functioning properly. I followed all the steps but the prompt to update never showed when I put the micro card back nt he device. So I will update this review about the firmware update.Update as far as the firmware update if your unit has the firmware that ends in .510 or .511 you are good to go. The unit is a little pricy, but if you are looking for a great device then this is the one. The quality is top notch compared to cheaper devices that do similar functions. The bad reviews about the binox 4k I think are more “operator error” than the unit itself. Lol, watch the tutorials and you will be fine.

Early 1990's Camcorder Video Quality
Using this device reminded me of video footage I saw taken in perhaps 1991, filmed at a suburban home with a rented camcorder. This poor quality is present through the viewfinder, or saved pictures or videos, at any amount of ambient light or settings. This is not "4k". I know, because I have a drone that has adjustable video settings, and for cheaper than this I can see 4k items at several miles away live streamed to my mobile device. The night vision may have been defective on this pair, and I have to hope so, because it didn't work at any distance. 10 feet, 30 feet, 30 yards. The moon was out, there was some ambient light around. Nothing. Focus knob. Zoom. Adjust settings. Focus. Zoom. Settings. Factory restore. Settings. Mode change. Mode change.I put away the device. My eyes were able to adjust to the darkness and see better at all ranges than this device at any setting. I am in the process of returning and researching different products.

Awesome product!!!
I bought it for coyote hunting, I like the night vision, recording capability, being able to take pictures and being able to use it in the daytime also. Great product for the price!

Lots of issues from the start.
My initial experience with the product was very subpar. After receiving it, opening the package, and letting the BinoX charge, I ran into multiple issues trying to update the firmware. There were times where I would turn on the device and it would result in a black screen, where I had to hold the device power button for 15 seconds to turn off the device. This was a regular occurrence that was remedied by turning off the device and letting it sit for a while (still not sure why it was happening or how this worked).Fast forward a few hours, I tried updating the firmware as detailed on their website. I took a microSD, formatted it in the device, uploaded the .bin file into the root folder, etc. When powering on the device with the microSD, I get no prompt to update the device. Thought nothing of it and went to do a factory reset.I'm not sure if this is normal, but after the factory reset, I couldn't get the laser rangefinder to work until a while later when I enabled the advanced shortcut options in the carousel. Tested it with advanced shortcut options disabled and it didn't work. Again, I'm not sure if this is normal but I don't think the manual says anything about it (unless I missed it). After the factory reset, my compass display is also stuck at North and will occasionally read error.Back to the firmware update, I decided to go through the process of doing a hard reset with the Obsidian 4 desktop app and the .elf file (instructions listed on their website under the firmware update page). This was successful, and when I went to update the firmware through the microSD and .bin file as instructed by the website, it worked just fine.As for the nightvision mode, people have stated that they're having trouble with seeing anything other than a grainy video feed. I'm not sure if their IR illuminator is actually defective, but the default setting for it is off. This is digital nightvision, not analog nightvision, so the illuminator a must and can be activated in the System Settings > Night Vision > Illuminator Brightness. In a pitch black house, I can see everything with the illuminator on setting 3.In the end, I haven't had the black screen issue after the firmware update, and my laser rangefinder works when advanced shortcuts are enabled in the carousel. Compass display still stuck on North with occasional error reading, and there's no compass calibration function after the firmware update. Overall, I wish I could give this product a higher rating, but with okay nightvision being the best quality so far, I can't get past the headaches I've had initially.Other key points:- WiFi & Bluetooth work okay like other products.- I haven't tested the LRF broadcast function or ATN RADAR yet. If any problems arise, I will updated this review.

Great product! Crystal clear image and endless number of features!
I like that it has classic design with two eyepieces/displays/lenses (of all the options in this price segment most offer one display to reduce the cost). Both eyepieces can be adjusted separately so I can use it with my glasses on or without them, and see a clear picture in both cases. And the battery life is amazing, I spent the whole day playing with settings when it arrived, and it was not even half empty after that. Great product!
