I think in China. If you haven't already ordered it I strongly suggest that you DO NOT!!! Mine came with a small hole in the body. I made a call to the vendor asking how to return it. The answer -- this item cannot be returned! BTW same answer from Amazon! It is still useable but the water level gets low after 5-8 minutes. Hop this helped.

How does it open up? I can't get it to open so I can use it.

Hold one side of the top rim and push the bottom and then repeat for the other side.

What are the dimensions of the bottom of the medium size? (None of these questions specify medium vs. small.)

The exterior base dimention of medium size is about 10.75 x 8.75 inches whereas the small size is about 9.5 x 8 inches
