I have a 30.5 inch (77.5 cm) waist, so the S was recommended. But, I ordered M size just to be on the safe side (better to order too big than too small I thought). I cannot say M is 'too' big, but the waist is just a little loose when untied. The drawstring allows me to tighten the waist up to the right size, so it's no problem. I would definitely not recommend going up two sizes though. These look like a quality pair of fight shorts. One of the reasons I chose these shorts was because they do not have pockets, which is good for grappling on the ground, and the legs have ample room for the stand-up sparring. After using for a while, I'll update again if there is anything negative to report.

These shorts super comfortable, fit well, stayed on and I didn’t even know they were there while rolling. This is now the second product I’ve purchased from Elite and have loved them both! Extremely affordable and great products!
