This book completely blew me away! It’s a story about love, loss, loyalty, and the lengths people go to for the ones they care about. Saint and Patch are two unforgettable characters, broken in so many ways but holding on to strength, faith, and determination as they navigate a world filled with mystery and danger. This book isn’t just about solving a mystery—it’s about understanding people, their choices, and the deep connections that drive them. I haven’t been this emotional about a book in such a long time. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. It had me feeling everything—excitement during the thrill of the chase, curiosity as the mystery unfolded, sadness during heartbreaking moments, and admiration for the characters. I adored Saint and Patch’s strength, Charlotte’s sharp wit and humor, and Sammy’s unshakable loyalty. The emotions this book brought out in me were overwhelming in the best way, and they stayed with me even after I finished reading. The way the story is written is just brilliant. The chapters are super short—sometimes only half a page—but they pack so much into them. Each one adds to the emotions, the revelations, and the overall connection to the story. It’s rare for a book to say so much with so few words. The non-linear storytelling might sound confusing, but it’s so well done that it feels effortless. You’re given just enough at every turn to keep you hooked and guessing until everything finally clicks together. And let me tell you—this book isn’t just about the twists or suspense. Most books slow down after the big reveal, but not this one. I actually sped through the last 20% because I couldn’t wait to see how it all came together. By the time I reached the ending, I was a mess. Those last two lines broke me completely. It’s the only book that’s made me cry twice—once in the middle and then again at the very end. But what really sets this book apart is how much it made me think. It’s not just entertaining; it’s inspiring. It made me reflect on myself, my relationships, and what I’ve done for the people around me. Every single page of this 576-page novel is worth it. I’m honestly in awe of Chris Whitaker’s talent. He’s not just a brilliant writer—he’s an incredible storyteller. I know I’ll read anything he writes in the future without even thinking twice. If you’re looking for a book that will move you, surprise you, and stay with you long after you’re done, this is it. You need to read this book.

Great characters that have you routing for them. great concept, excellent storyline that keep you turning the pages. Really enjoyed this book and was in my top 3 for 2025. Thriller, psychological thriller type theme.

This is an extraordinary book. The style of writing takes some getting used to but once I got it I found myself invested. The author cares about the reader and clears any anomalies eventually! I found myself invested in the characters. I looked forward to reading with excitement. I didn't want the book to end and had to overlap and start another read just so I could feel I wasn't adrift of storytelling.. Just an amazing tale intricately told. A masterclass of writing.

There just aren’t enough words to explain how much I loved this book. Yes, it was long, but I devoured every single word, sometimes even rereading passages just to make sure I caught every detail. This review is going to be all over the place because I just finished it, and I’m still a mess. Honestly, there’s no way to sum it up; too much happens in this story for that. The twists and turns still have me reeling. The ending made me cry and completely took my breath away. This is a masterpiece, easily one of my favorite books of the year so far, and maybe even in my top five of all time. I already know I’ll reread it at least once. The way the author brought each character to life was brilliant, and the storyline went in directions I never expected, which made it completely unique for me. This book had everything: heartbreaking moments, laugh-out-loud scenes, parts that made me so angry I had to put the book down, and passages that made me stop and ask myself, What would I do in this situation? It truly covered the full range of emotions. Saint and Patch will forever be two of my favorite characters. This story is going to stay with me for a long time. The way the author wove everything together was nothing short of amazing, raising the bar for what I’d call a complex, unforgettable tale. I’m glad I have the hardcover for my shelf, but I’ll also be picking up a paperback (my favorite) or the Kindle edition for an easier reread. Now, off to see how many more books I can get my hands on by this author. :)
