Simple and inexpensive way to keep cords plugged together.
Durable black plastic cord end protectors that is large enough for most 12-gauge wires.Excellent choice to keep longer runs of connected cords connected and safe. The cords will not come unplugged once they are secured inside one of these simple, inexpensive gadgets.I leave a cord outside all winter for a snow blower and I use one of these to protect the outlet end of the cord from water and damage. Works perfectly. There are removable adapters at the ends to accommodate 12-gauge cords. Leaving the adapters in place accommodates 14-gauge cords. The adapters are a bit hard to remove and once removed there's no place to store or keep them, so if you want to re-use them, be sure to set them aside.Works well and easy to adjust for longer cord ends. Ridges on the inside ensure a tight grip and no slips once secured.Easily supports grounded (three-prong) outlets and keeps the cords from disconnecting.Quite weatherproof, but not waterproof. Depending on what kind of cords you are using, water or snow could get in around the cord.A good value for three when offered at about $18 at the time of our review -- that's about $6 each.

Great product.
These work great! We use them whenever we have big rain to run our sump pump outside to keep our stand alone patio from being flooded. They are used very often. The only drawback is that the piece that snaps it closed breaks easily if you open and close it a couple times and this ruins it. We now leave it closed permanently and just move the sump pump with the extension cord connected whenever not in use. If you need to open and close them more than a couple times, they will break. If you can leave them on, they last a pretty long time. We hang ours on a nail off the ground to keep it from laying submerged in water so I can't tell you if they are totally waterproof. I can tell you that during a hurricane where we had days of heavy rain, they kept our cords connections absolutely dry while our sump pump ran continuously. I would recommend these.

Water resistant?, well, maybe. A "seal", no.
Our fountain pump is about 12 feet from the electrical receptacle. The cord for the water pump is 6 feet long. I did't want to run the cord above ground and was reluctant to make the connection of the pump to an extension cord below ground. So, what to do? After shopping for a waterproof cover for the connection on Amazon I decided on this product. It offered the best compromise considering safety, availability and price. In my mind the word I was looking for was "waterproof", but I didn't find it. I suppose if I'd looked more carefully I might have found such a product, but I decided it was probably impractical. This "Cordsafe" product comes three in a package which is good because when I put out Christmas lighting I really need something like this for above ground extension cord connections. The product is molded with each unit coming in two halves with segmented horizontal ribs so that the halves may be assembled in increments of 3/16 in. allowing ends of the extension cord when connected measuring of from about 2 3/4 in. to 4 3/4 in. not including the cord wrappings where the ends meet the cord. When correctly assembled and snapped shut the unit completely encloses the two ends of the cords, however, the ends are hardly "sealed" inside. At the points where the two ends engage and the two halves of the clamshell like ends meet when snapped together the points of contact are close but not "sealed", thus if submerged in water the Cordsafe will allow water inside. If the Cordsafe is buried in a well drained medium like rocks or gravel any water that gets inside will likely drain out, however if buried in a medium not well drained it appears possible water could get inside and short the cord connection. There is a rudimentary diagram showing the two halves going together on the packaging, but it is not detailed and may take some trials before figuring out the correct assembly. There is probably a means of laying the Cordsafe unit in the ground so as to reduce the chance of moisture entering the closed capsule particularly if the unit were to be sealed with caulking at the seams. Knowing the limitations and all else considered I'd buy his product again.

Good at holding my cable lights together.
I purchased this to connect outdoor lights in series. This item works well for the intended role and holds cable at the plug/socket very well. I was able to pull the cable while installing and there was no issues in the cable connections pulling apart. The second reason I use these is to water resist the connection which it does, it is not waterproof but does resist a lot of water getting into the connection. In heavy rain water had dripped in but it was minimal and away from the actual connection. The only negative is the price, $5 each for molded plastic units which I though was a little steep but I knew that going in ...

Doesn’t work for all plugs
The media could not be loaded. We bought these to use for our blow ups outside for Christmas and Halloween. We bought the biggest ones they had, and they still didn’t work. If your plug connector is a normal one like a vacume plug, then they will fit in this protector. However if you have square ones like what came with all the different blow ups we bought from different places, they don’t fit. Picture included of our plugs. Super disappointing! ☹️ but I would say if you have normal plugs they will fit great and work great. The product is sturdy and easy to use. So if we had the kind it took, then it would be a 5 star review possibly. Only giving 3 or 4 stars because of the hassle we now have to go through of returning and them not working for ours, and even if we could get the clips to lock closed, the cover isn’t long enough to cover both of the plugs when plugged in
