The best I’ve used
We have 3 dogs. All of them poop. We’ve used many kinds of scoopers, and I like this one best. Pros: Can be used one handed. Bags make it super easy to dump. Can use any plastic bag. If you aren’t picking up a lot, then the little poop bags work great and fit the bag end just fine. Cons: If you’re picking up a lot, the bag on the end throws it off balance. And your arm may get tired. You do have to make sure to raise the end enough that the poop falls all the way to the bag. Tips: Don’t raise the poop end too fast after scooping or the poop may fall on you. :) It can get a bit heavy if you pick up a lot in one go. If the poop is really stuck, you may need to use a rake or something with your other hand. We have turf, so some poop sticks if it’s baked in the sun for a few days. But I have a little rake and if I take just a minute to loosen any stuck poop first, then I can still do this one handed. I wouldn’t have to do that at all if we picked up daily, and I’m sure this is more of a turf thing. But like I said, this is the best scooper I’ve used. Way easier than a rake and bin. And so easy to dump in the trash.

I Dig the Doody Digger Pooper Scooper!
First time ever that I've been this enthusiastic about a product. It's a dirty job, but somebody's gotta be on duty to do the doggie doody scooping. I had pounds to pick up because winter snow melted and the packages were exposed. I started using the regular "pooper scooper", and was disgusted. Pick it up, put it in a sack...uck uck. I decided to see what else there was to take care of the poopy piles...(alliteration/rhyme) is a must when discussing the Doody Digger. After reading mostly rave reviews I decided to just do it a order the doody digger. So, here's my scoop...on the poop. No instructions needed...the manufacturer must have thought, there was none. Using it takes a little finesse. Honestly, the Doody Digger Pooper Scooper works great! Easy to pick up piles, they slide down the tube when tilted upwards and you will hear a satisfying plop when it doody drops. When the bag is full remove the bag and drop doody in dumpster. The band fits securely around the top with a lip to hold it in place. It's awesome, I found myself smiling as I hunted down doggie doo. My dog followed me wondering, " what is my human doing?". However, Don't get in a hurry when tilting the tube, or you may have a flying doo aimed somewhere at yourself. Sometimes you have to chase the dewy poo. An product improvement to consider; one side with tines to dig under squirrely turd. Also, I misplaced the "doody bags" and substituted plastic grocery bags...that works. A improvement on the doody bags would be handles making them easy to tie. But, honestly none of those things I wish were improved make me less enthused about this product...I just dig the Doody Digger!

MUST TRY! THIS IS IS POOP-A-MAZING!!!!! NO JOKE, IT WILL SAVE YOU HOURS AND HOURS OF PAIN AND TROUBLE.
I like the other reviewer, searched high and low for a pooper scooper for my two dogs. A cocker spaniel that weighs 40 pounds and a 70 pound beagle. Yes, they need to go on a diet, clearly. However, they still crap ALL OVER my yard! Anyone who lives in Missouri, knows several things. A. We have humongous yards B. We have a ton of bugs C. We have the worst humidity. These three things, make for double poopy trouble. So, with a yard full of turds, that are say.... years old now - (I've never scooped before), it's high poopin' scoopin' time. I have a one year old that is about to tot around my yard so I definitely need to scoop this POOP! Anyway, on with it....so I ordered this thing, partially based on the hilarious review posted and partially because it actually makes sense! A one handed pooper scooper? Who would have imagined! So, I get it in the mail and low and behold, the box is HUGE! I haven't prepared exact measurements, simply because I was so excited after using this thing for only 3 minutes that I actually ran back into the house to write this review. It is HUGE, just HUGE. I am 5' and this thing stands at my chest and must be at least 12" in diameter. It has a large shovel style bottom and all I have to do is walk out and shovel a turd into the thing and tip it up! Down the shoot goes the poop!!!!! It's that SIMPLE! Putting the bag on was a breeze. The HUGE rubberband easily holds these bags in place and I received like 7 bags and since the bags are HUGE and totally reusable, I am totally happy with the 7. More people need to go to the Doody Digger Pooper Scooper Facebook page and vote a like!!!!! These people totally deserve it!!! I scooped up like 50 turds in 3 minutes, it was that simple and believe me, it is PLENTY big enough for several turds. I am sure it would hold a horse poo if you wanted it too. You can scoop several poos at once too! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU DOODY DIGGER POOPER SCOOPER!!!!!! YOU MADE MY DAY! I've read all the low star reviews about the bags being hard to get on and off and it not working. This thing is as totally SIMPLISTIC as it can possibly get. It is NOT hard, unless you have arthritis or some other crippling situation with your hands. It's 3 basic pieces, a scooper, a bag and a rubber band that is HUGE. The bag easily slides over the top end of the tube and the band slides on over it to hold the bag in place. It is literally that simple. Then, go outside, pick up the dog poop using the HUGE scoop end and tilt up until the poop travels down the tube into the bag. How much more complicated can anyone make this? It's so simple an APE could do it!

Absolute CRAP.
First of all, I should mention that the item I received had clearly been opened, returned, and then resold to me. There was no original packaging. There was also no rubber band to hold the bag on. Okay, fine. So I wrangled some twist ties (not ideal, Strike One) and then went out to clean the yard. Scooping the poop was awkward and took many tries, since there's nothing to grab onto the poop with. And this thing is unwieldy and weird anyway. So, Strike Two. Strike three was when I got the (days old, good and hard) poop scooped, tipped the digger up as instructed, and the poop didn't slide through to the bag. I jiggled it, I tapped it, nothing. When I set it back down, the poop came rolling right back out the opening, having never made it to the bag because of whatever obstruction was in the center of the thing. Look, you can read my other reviews of other products - I LIKE things. I'm easy to please. That I'm so angry about this, I think, really shows just how truly terrible this digger thing is. I guess I'll have to suck it up and buy another $40 Poop Hound, since I already know that's a great product. I was just hoping to save some money by buying this. And now I have to waste money sending this poopy-and-dirty, defective digger thing back through the mail. I'm not happy.

Makes cleanup so much easier.
Best investment ever made! 7 years and it's still working great! The velcro strap is stretched out, but still working. That cost them a star for not selling a replacement. Really good for winter digging poop out of the snow. Good news, it's frozen! LOL!

Takes a little practice to get the scooping just right.
This was quite a bit larger than I had expected it is not the easiest pooper scooper I have ever tried. It’s kind of awkward to carry around because of the size and you do have to get a bit of practice to learn to scoop the poop correctly. I have found it’s more of a side scoop and there are times you do have to push the poop around a little bit until it will get in the scooper. I do like how easy it is to throw the bag of poop out once you are done scooping. The bags are rather large and I have found that even with my large dog it can hold several days worth of poop if I wanted a bag to last that long. The bags are held to the end of the scooper with a wide Velcro strap and it’s snug so there is really no worry about it falling off as you use the scooper. I would imagine a small trash bag will work once the bags run out that came with the product. I will probably continue to use this just because it’s easy to have the poop go directly into the bag and then you can tie the bag and toss it without any contact of the poop and you don’t have to experience that gross feeling of warm poop when you use a traditional poop bag to pick up your dog’s poop. Personally I think that if I could find a longer “claw type” poop grabber I would prefer to use that but the one I have now requires me to bend down quite a bit and my aching lower back starts hurting so I do like the length of this one a little better but it is a bit bigger than I expected and takes some work to pick the poop up especially in areas of dirt, cement, etc.

Wish I had found this years ago!!
All of my neighbors and friends laugh at me for using my fancy pooper scooper, but they can laugh all they want!! I LOVE THIS! picking up dog poop is no fun, especially when you have 2 dogs and one is a lab who produces lots of big poops! I have arthritis and fibromyalgia, so bending over a lot is very painful for me. This makes the doggy duty chore much easier and faster. I love the yellow bags it comes with, but do use leftover grocery sacks also. The yellow bags are thick, so contain the smell much better than the plastic grocery sacks, but they are a bit costly, considering the grocery sacks are free. I like that a bag holds a weeks worth of waste for us and then it goes straight to the trash can! Also, between bags, I use the power sprayer on the hose and spray down the tube to clean it up and get any stuck on poop off of it! This is a great tool and is worth every penny and saves my back, and I don't have to use my hands at all to pick up the poop. The end is kind of chiseled which helps picks up waste that as been smashed into the ground . It's also very lightweight. SO glad I found this!

I've tried the rest...
and THIS is the best! I have two big dogs. An Old English Sheepdog, and a Goldendoodle. I've tried several different pooper scoopers in the past, and they have either broken, or I haven't been happy with them. I read a few reviews on this product, and decided to give it a try. It really is the best scooper for the job. It's super easy and effective to use, and I love that I can use my plastic grocery bags. (I don't have to keep buying special bags) I guess the only drawback is that it's kind of big for storage purposes, but this is only a minor inconvenience. Trust me, with our two dogs, we know about the business of poo pickup. The Doody Digger really is the best tool for the job.
