Seth's Broadway Diary, Volume 1 Paperback – October 5, 2014

I have heard Seth on his radio show and thought that not only is he well connected and informed, but also a really funny fellow. This book is a collection of some of his columns. I have to admit that I only know about 1/3 of the people he talks about, but I thoroughly enjoy his comments, stories, and certainly his sense of humor... I am enjoying it....

If "Seth's Big Fat Broadway", "Seth Speaks" and Sutton Foster had a baby... I'm not quite sure what would happen, but I'm certain it would love this book - Heck, anyone who loves theater and theater gossip/stories would.(It's 1:30am and I'm delirious because I can't put this book down.)If you're a fan of Seth's, from any number of things, you have to get this book.I listen to "On Broadway" on Sirius XM and he makes my ride to and from work bearable. His quips and asides are to die for. Not only that, but, he's passionate...That passion is addicting.He made his dreams come true. The stories he shares are not only funny, but inspiring. That little Jewish boy found his place in the sun and its a blast reading about his journeys and experiences.He also shares dishy secrets of the stars. It's a blast.Do yourself a favor and get this book ;)

It is safe to say that I am a Broadway Diva. That being said, I have been a huge fan of Seth Rudetsky's for years and years! Such a talented musician, teacher (i.e. Seth's Deconstruction Videos), AND writer! I thoroughly enjoyed Seth's Broadway Diary Volume I and can't wait to read Volume II. He is a thought-provoking, humorous, entertaining, and very descriptive writer. You feel like you were part of his Broadway journey - every step of the way. And, his sense of humor is picture-perfect. I found myself LAUGHING OUT LOUD during most of it. And, (yes, there's more to my review) he leaves you wanting more. I'm sure there will be many more Broadway Diaries in Seth's future. One thing is for sure. I am on board!

I almost knew what to expect from this book, having listened to so many "Seth Speaks Broadway" shows on Sirius XM, but I was delightfully surprised at how much these diaries embody Seth's sense of humor and absolute love of theater and everyone in it! I felt like I was chatting with a close friend--okay, a close friend who is extremely talented and funny and warm and who can dish (respectfully) about the actors I admire. The book is a must-read for anyone who loves the theater and wants to know a little bit more about the actors' lives.

I've read all of Seth Rudetsky's books now. All are good, this is great. I feel like I've been out with Seth and his friends every night. I know a lot of the people he is talking about, but what I like about Seth's point of view is that while seeing the funny side of people's circumstances, he still sees the best parts of the people, including himself. If you like theater at all, you will love this book. If you like a funny, you will like this. If you have ever had a dream of being in show business, you will like this book. Go ahead and buy it now.

Volume one of the diaries is a delightful, hilarious adventure that no one who loves theater should miss. Not only is he a brilliant musician, performer & host, he ranks with the very best raconteurs. Anyhoo. Let me and this so I can begin Volume 2. I can't wait!

This book is not only for Broadway lover's,many famous names are mentioned in this book.Rita Moreno would kick her shoe into the actual audience, was never stolen.Rosie Perez never had her shoe back,Rita told her she wrote inside of her shoe,"there is a seven foot Puerto Rican,who will attack you as you exit if you don't returns this shoe.they look at Bernadette Peters walking out looking in her early thirties.has she aged since Mack and Mabel? I asked the same question,when I saw her in Mozart in the jungle,she never aged,she looks young and beautiful.This book you will enjoy is very good,make my day,is very funny.Thelma

What a fun book! Rudetsky is the original Broadway fanboy, who seems to have his hand in all aspects of Broadway from piano accompanist to arranger to actor to radio show host to producer to raconteur. Reading his entries is like being part of the Broadway scene. He writes with intelligence and a generous sense of humor. If you enjoy gossip and backstage tales of the Great White Way, this book is for you.

If you are into insider stories right from Broadway, you'll love Seth's Diary entries. Absolutely. And his style is very funny and full of life
