Mine came together wrapped in hard plastic yes that’s what you will receive

Could this be used as a hand soap? Also does the lid come off so I could put it in a different container?

I wouldn’t recommend using this as hand soap and lid does not come off though it’s not to say you can’t transfer it or pour into another container. Method does have its own line of hand soaps foamy and gel and I would highly recommend it..you can buy one to try and they sell refills for both types. Hope this helps!
