Q: Does the backplate come with the switch

Not sure what you mean. The flat plate socket fixes in exactly the same way as a normal socket by screws into a normal backbox with the chrome front then clicking on.

Q: Will this fit in an existing 25mm depth backbox?

I have fitted four of these and they all used my existing back boxes. So although I can’t say for certain, I had no problems
