This was the PERFECT bunny deterrent for my new butterfly garden. They kept eating my new coneflower buds. Someone told me to try this because animals are scared of the smell of blood. It means danger. All I know is the nasty garlic essential oil bags I first tried made my whole front yard smell horrible and the bunnies didn't care at all they were there and kept feasting. This actually worked and it's good for the plants! Humans can't smell the blood at all so it's perfect.

I use Blood Meal to keep squirrels out of a big Planter. Someone said this has a strong odor. When I opened the new bag it didn't seem to have any odor. They don't like the stuff on their feet, don't know if this will work. I put it down and will come back after I see how it works to update. It is not what I expected, blood meal is usually powder, this is big granules. UPDATE; This stuff works better than the powder for keeping squirrels from digging holes. With the powder you have to put more down every time it rains, these bigger granules don't dissolve as fast. After over 2 months I have only added new Blood Meal once and the squirrels won't go in the dirt. They hop up on the side, maybe jump in for a second but hop right out. They hate this stuff, it's great! They were digging it up like crazy before I used this blood meal, they have not dug one hole in there since I started using this. Amazing! At 5 months I haven't added any more blood meal yet. Once in awhile a squirrel scratches the dirt for a few seconds and leaves, not to come back for a good while. Wish I found this product years ago. It's the cure for rabbits and squirrels.

This has worked wonderfully for my banana plants! It seemed to absorb pretty quickly because they started popping out leaves quicker I'm a.matter of a week or two and continued to take off. The smell isn't too bad.
