Holy smokes this works great
This was NOT cheap and it's basically the same thing as my Bostich siding nailer with a little feeder on the side, but it is like night and day putting up house wrap and foam insulation. Saves me time and smash fingers. I reviewed the stinger stapler that is kind of like a hammer and this is so far beyond that I'll never pick it up again. And most amazingly, I have had not one misfire with this gun and I'm almost through my first box of caps. Really a top notch piece of equipment and at this point, I own them all.

Did not like to bump fire.
It worked well but would over shoot the nails when bump firing and the washers would not be held down.

Works great with 1.5" exterior insulation board
Building a 3 story addition to my house with approx. 900 sf of 1.5" rigid exterior insulation this works great.Best practice is to locate studs, mark the board and fire 2.5" cap nails through insulation and into studs .Originally tried using plastic sheet coil siding nails ... DON'T ... The plastic holds nails too loosely and even though this gun is rated for plastic, too many jams, and the plastic strip sucks since nails are held too loosely. Use wire welded coil nails , far superior to the plastic.Yea this gun is $300 bucks, but when up on the ladder/scaffolding reaching to place nails you'll appreciate the time savings and ease, plus the weight builds up your arms for that manly appearance ... besides, when done, you can always sell it on Craigslist/Ebay if you don't need it anymore ... Buy this baby!NOTE: This gun come standard as a "bump-Action" one step fire. ... meaning if you are holding the trigger the gun WILL fire when the contact tip is pressed against ANYTHING , including your leg, arm, dog, etc. It does come with a separate trigger that you will have to install yourself if you want the safer two step fire sequence.

Fast and efficient
I used this to nail down roofing underlayment. Fed flawlessly, no issues shooting over 1000 caps. I tried some other siding nails and it struggled to sink 2 1/2 inch nails, but I didn't mess with the adjustments much.

Wouldn't buy another
I usually have great faith in bostich nailers as I have quite a few: framer, roofer, brad nailer, palm nailer, narrow crown stable, flooring stapler. They usually just do their jobs. That said, the cap nailer drops the next cap out of the gun almost every time you lift the gun off the underlayment. Here in the northeast we aren't always dealing in nice fresh plywood decking. More often than not its 150+ year old irregular planking that requires you to lift the gun between shots so you don't tear the underlayment. Does it work? Yes. Is it frustrating? Very.

IT WORKS!
I was skeptical of this gun before I purchased, but with a few minutes spent adjusting the depth gauge, it drove caps and nails like a champ! This is a clever tool, well built, and durable. The caps are pricey, but after driving thousands of roof caps by hand on my last house, the price is more than balanced by speed and ease of use.

finding the caps
I ordered one pack of the caps and got about half way done with my roof until I ran out of caps. I can't find anymore in the Atlanta area. None of the roofing supply companies carry them. I can order them but I need them to be more readily available. I sure was surprised when I called Bostitch customer service and got the answer about they can't be bought from a local retailer. No more Bostitch stuff in my tool box!

Works fine as a Cap nailer
Dial a depth did not work. Works fine as a Cap nailer, but does not flush nails as a Siding Nailer. Return period expired within 30 days before I could try out on my Siding.
