The WOWee One is a nice portable speaker with excellent sound output given its small size. The bass sounds best with the unit pressed firmly against a large solid object such as a table, countertop or a wall. I have this one wall mounted near the shower so I can listen to music or Audible books while getting ready in the morning (NOTE: the wall mount is sold separately).Personally, I wish it had an on/off switch. The power comes on automatically when the 3.5mm cable is connected. This is both a pro and a con. Although convenient, if you forget to unplug it after listening, the battery will drain and need to be recharged. I also wish they would develop a Bluetooth version, but otherwise I am very happy with the product.

This one is reallyMuch better but you have to put it on a wooden surface. You cant put it on a bed or something like thatMost hotels have a desk or wooden nightstand so it's not a problem and A small price to pay for decent sound.It basically uses the wooden surface to transport and amplify the bases.Overall at this small size you can't expect master sound but it is mug better than most littlePortable speakers I have seen and heard and I like it.It is finally fun again listeningTo music or audiobooks while travelling (and without having to put on earphones)

The WOWee one is a nice option for a portable speaker. It gives you great sound and is a high quality product. I think the price might be a little on the high side compared to some of the other alternatives I've seen.

I bought this for a specific application, where it didn't work well had hoped to power it from an airport express node.The main problem I have is the "power switch." The speaker is on when the cable is plugged in. In all the uses I want to use a portable speaker like this, I'd like to keep the cord plugged into the speaker, and just plug my iPod into that cable when I want to use it. I know this isn't a big deal, but I've found it surprisingly annoying. Also a little harder to get a satisfying sound. True, when you find a suitable surface to use the vibration to get the bass effect, it can be surprisingly good. But that's not easy. Far more common is a slightly tinny mid- and high-end, with more distortion in the bass than you want for the volume level.

The speaker is really good, but when the volume is in the maximum it makes some annoying noises with the bass and it starts moving around the surface, so be careful, it can. But in general, it's a powerful speaker.

I like this product and it works well but you need to find the right surface to use it on.

It's only a 2 watt speaker. The sound is good, nice bass tones on a wood desk, but even at full volume on the iPod, it's not loud enough. I bought it for my son to use when practicing guitar and he needs more volume. So we will be returning it.

I like this speaker and it does have very good bass. But if you want something that will bump the whole room get a Logitech Z-2300 THX-Certified 2.1 Speaker System with Subwoofer. It is only $110 dollars and will bump so good

I had known for many years that something was missing from my life but didn't quite know what it was. I had a good job, good salary, nice car, nice house and great friends and family but that final piece of the jigsaw was missing.That was until one day a friend popped out his Wowee, plugged it into his phone and this amazing sound started coming out of it. And it was at this point that I immediately realised this is what had been missing from my life 'wowee music'.As if things couldn't get any better, he then started placing his wowee on different surfaces and the sound just got better and better. The bass sound was frankly to awesome to describe in words. To be honest, doors and windows were the best...but then a tabletop or wardrobe were equally as good. There is no way to detail the feel of the wowee or how is sound output compares with others without actually hearing it...suffice to say you will never have heard anything like it before in your life!I knew that no matter what I had to go out and get my very own wowee so that my life would be complete and I wouldn't simply have to wait on each those opportunities to have a little go on my friends.Since taking the decision to purchase my own wowed off Amazon I have never looked back. It arrived within a matter of days and amazingly came with a charge which meant I was able to start using it right out the box.I have now taken the role of my friend and have shown it to other friends only for them to be as wowed as I was when I had my first wowee experience. They too were in a position where their lives were incomplete and had been looking for that find piece as well. And it was clear that the Wowee was filling this gap on every occasion. The same thing happened with them when I showed them my wowee - they simply had to go out and get their own.So I guess, the wowee is a bit of a viral purchase (not sure that's legal - but it just seems to work that way).Therefore in conclusion, go out there and purchase the aforementioned wowee...complete your life and fit that final piece of the puzzle into the right place in your jigsaw of life. Once you have it go out and show it to as many friends as you can and help spread the gospel according to wowee music. You'll never regret it.

I have owned my Wowee for a year or so and really like it. I am so suprised that they are not more popular. I have use mine alot travelling with MP3 players and laptops and eventually I got rid of my home PC speakers and now use my Wowee instead. The bass is great, in fact the bass is unbelievably loud for the size (sometime you can ALMOST feel it in your chest!), although it is a shame that the midrange and treble can't really match the quality of the bass output - but if you aware of that limitation from the start - you may find that this is a great product that allows you to get big powerfull sound from a box that is only a four or five inches long. All you need to do is find a flat surface such as a formica or glass table top, stick on the Wowee, and off you go! Even surfaces that are not perfectly flat can be stuck to and still generate a pretty decent bassline. Also, try and get the hard case if you can afford it, as as it offers really good protection and helps alot when travelling...

After being incredibly disappointed by a Cyrus Bluetooth speaker, which has since been returned, I went for the wowee as it was a third of the price and had promising reviews.The wowee has the potential to give form defying sound but it is very temperamental about placement, too hard a surface and you get no bass and the unit rattles like it has blown. Too soft a surface and it won't adhere giving a wooly undefined sound. But, get it right, like on an hollow core door or on a memory foam pillow and it's really rewarding, with true bass extension and taught delivery.

This device is pretty brilliant. The sound that comes out from this thing when well placed is amazing. The battery life lasts over 10 hours and I am generally thrilled with this device.What I don't like about it is that there is a gel 'sticky' pad underneath that has to be wiped with a wet, lint free cloth every few days to keep a good contact with the resonating surface. I'm using glossy painted wood which works well.That said I'm very happy with this device and am surprised at the depth and loudness of the bass that can come from such a small box when placed correctly. After having several small speakers in the past that left a lot to be desired I wanted a small speaker that I could use with an iPod, iPad, iPhone and Laptop which also gives a reasonable amount of base.This Wowee ONE Classic does the job better than any small speaker I have tried in the past. Obviously your never going to get the superior sound quality of something like Bose from such a small unit but once attached to a good, flat surface the base and sound quality will be acceptable for most people. There is no volume control on the unit so the volume is controlled via the iPod, iPhone etc., I found that to get a good quality output changing the EQ on the iPod to Small Speakers was best. I've used the unit at an outdoors BBQ and having the iPod at 3/4 volume was sufficient for everyone to hear. Charging time was a little less than 4 hours and having used it for over 6 hours straight it showed no signs of fading out (the manufacturer say the unit can play for 20 hours on a full charge). The unit can also be used on a laptop while charging for the laptop's USB port.The build of the Wowee ONE Classic is OK but could be better, the plastic seems a little fragile so I have invested in a Wowee ONE hard case to protect it while in a bag etc.If you're looking for a small, reasonably priced speaker that will give acceptable sound quality and base the this unit is for you.
