Exactly what I wanted and needed!
This is exactly what I was wanting. It comes with 2 different sized barrels, a heat resistant tip that protects your fingers, and a very simple heat control. The price was excellent in comparison to others. I loved my old one, but, this unit is better. My hair is short and both barrels work. I'm very happy and...my hair looks better!

Best smoothing tool so far
I have really difficult hair.Itās fine in front and coarse in back, wavy in some places, super curly in others. Itās thick. Thereās a lot of it.With this? Itās dried and smooth within 45 minutes.I would not be able to hold a brush and a dryer for as long as it would take to dry my hair.Blowing out my hair wouldnāt be possible without this.I wish it had tourmaline or ceramic coating but I use damage control products instead.Seriously. I have legit had one of these on hand for 22 years. Iāve lost several over time to over-use, normal wear and tear, and once, a duff item.I try to always keep a backup on hand bc I would need time to find another as good as this. The Dyson Airwrap looks incredible and if it w didnāt come with a shocking price tag, Iād pick one up.This one? The price canāt be beat.Iāve tried various brands here and abroad, but only a few are offered in this extra large barrel size.Years ago, in the UK, I picked up a Vidal Sassoon one - same size barrel! - but it takes longer to dry. Just doesnāt have the same oomph. My ātravelā rating comes into the picture - despite being told it was okay to use this in a British outlet, with the voltage adjusted, and it worked beautifully - until it went *POP* very loudly and refused to start up again⦠hence the need for the Vidal Sassoon model.Itās a good device that does a good job consistently, at a good price. āļø

Been using daily for 10+ years
I love and live by this tool. I have been using this since I was in junior high and I am now 27. I have a layered hair cut, and this gives me he right amount of curl in towards the face that I have always loved. It smoothes my hair, gives it bounce and body, and gives me the layered around my face look. I love it. It makes my hair look so much better than any old hair dryer and brush combo could. I have always gotten compliments on my hair, and I always attribute it to this hair tool. It is my beauty secret, if you will. It is something I will never be without. I use it daily and my hair is still healthy, so I believe it is less damaging than a normal curler. I can't live without it.I took off a star because these things do not last long at all. Some break within 2 months, some last almost a year. I've been using these for so long and I have gone through a tone. However, I have yet to find a product that compares with my hair, and I can usually pick one up for fifteen to twenty dollars, so I feel it is well worth the bargain.I should also point out that I only always use the stiff bristled brush that comes with it. It combs out all the tangles and locks them that way, so it leaves the hair great looking all day.I also do find that after the initial curling that my hair relaxes a tiny bit through out the day, but that just makes the curl and body look more natural.I have also had my hair all different lengths from hitting just at my shoulder to down the middle of my back and have always used this - no matter then length, it always smoothes and pefects. It's a wonderful tool, even if it doesn't last long. Although, it might not last because I use it almomst daily! Also, I would like to point out, I often switch between different types of shampoo/conditioner, from Pantene, Tresemee, Pureology, Biolage...and no matter which type I use, I always get the same results...from cheap to expensive.Give it a shot for salon perfect hair!

DO NOT PURCHASE! DOESN'T WORK AND CAN'T RETURN
Go ahead and do yourself a favor, save money, and purchase another product. I almost never write product reviews, but I want to save people from the headache this product causes! It doesn't have enough power to dry your hair, even after 5+ passes. It's a gentle blow that you can barely feel. I purchased this to use on my own hair (thick and curly, more African American style) as well as my wigs (thin and straight, more Asian and European style). It couldn't dry either and doesn't work across any hair type.I also tried returning the product, and I was only given the option of troubleshooting with the device. I even tried contacting Amazon customer service who also directed me to Conair's troubleshooting videos. Then when troubleshooting didn't work (no surprise), I tried to return the item again. I was told that I had to contact the manufacturer (Conair) myself. When I called Conair they don't me they don't do refunds for purchases they don't make. Since they sold the products to Amazon, that's who would refund me. So I'm stuck in a loopThere is no way to contact Conair directly. Conair has no email address, so you can only call their customer service line (1-800 number). I have called multiple times and am still able to get to a person who can refund my order. The phone is an automated customer service bot that only lets you get updates on your order status or Conair's products. SO, IF YOU WANT TO TAKE THE RISK AND TRY FOR YOURSELF- BEWARE YOU CAN'T RETURN OR GET YOUR MONEY BACK!

Defective - Would be 5* if I could get it to work on high setting
I love these styling brushes and wanted one for travel. It switches from 120v power to 240v power so wonāt blow up BUT the major issue with this one is it will NOT go onto high speed setting. I have taken it apart and everything and cannot get it to change from low speed. Unfortunately I did not realize this until I was in Europe and it was too late to return when I got back to US. Still effective at smoothing out nearly dry hair, but not powerful enough to dry my hair.
