The Nun [DVD] [2018]

Delivered in prime next day. Bought to review on blu ray and add to collection. watched before and find it gripping intense. Plot orginates from a abbey stems from romania in which a young nun takes her own life. A priet with a haunted past and novitilate on threshold of final vows are sent by vatican to look over probing together they uncover a wicked evil secret risking not only lifes but faith. Sone hair raising intense scenes that hives impression something sinister harmful will occur. Worth a watch again for night in.

A really good film especially as a follow on.

Good film

Hard to review this one, it’s not as good as other films in the so called “conjuring universe”, but is still a decent way to spend a couple of hours.The film follows a novice nun and an investigator sent to a Romanian monastery to investigate the suicide of a resident nun. Once there the film does tend to rely on cattle prod scares, but there are moments and sequences that are genuinely tense and as good as anything else in this series of films.The main criticism I would have is that we lose some of the mystery around the protagonist, the demon Valek, she just seemed more threatening in the conjuring 2 where we didn’t know the story behind her.Taissa Farminga absolutely shines as sister Irene, our novice nun, and at no point does she like she’s there just because she’s the younger sister of Vera. I genuinely hope she appears again in this series/film universeThe tie in to the other films comes right at the end in a short and very neat way.All in all a solid film, but not the best in the series

Bluray. I am a huge fan of the conjuring and Annabelle movies. Seen the movie the nun countless times at the cinema and a movie app on my smart tv and could not wait for the nun to be released on bluray for not just watching the movie but also the special features as i love watching how the movie was made and all the other features on the disk. so as soon as my movie was deliverd I could not open it quick enough to sit back and enjoy.

Classic horror. One of the best.

This is a watchable film, however it's very predictable, not much in character background. The FX are good as is the story line, just seems to be something missing.
