Pontec MultiClear Set 5000

I purchased this 2 months ago and have held of writing a review, until I could give an honest review of the results. I purchased this for my duck pond, I have 6 ducks who spend a lot of time in the water, plus the pond is near bushes and a Douglas fir tree. It arrived quickly and well packaged. It is fairly easy to fit together. When running it is quieter than I thought it would be, which is a good thing for me.Downsides - thanks to previous reviews I had purchased additional tubing, plugs and cable, the pond is a long way for the mains. The description on Amazon says complete set-up, it isn’t, the tubing and plugs are not included. Seems crazy to me to sell and electrical device without the plugs. You will need to buy tubing and plugs and additional cable if you pond is not near a mains supply.Positives- the duck pond was in a poor state, green water and very sludgy so I was not expecting great things, oh how wrong I was. For the first week I had it on throughout the day, and within 10 days the pond was clear, I was amazed. Because of the fir needles I do have to keep on top of keeping the filter clear, once a week maybe. And I have cleaned the filters a couple of times since it’s been in use, mainly because of the state of the pond. The pump is now only one for 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening. The ducks rush to the pond when they hear it come on.I am very impressed with this little pump, it has worked hard to clear the pond. I would recommend.

Easy to install and works well on a new pond. Not had any problems with water clarity or algae. Good value for money.

Good quality for money and it's performance but the cable on the tank is too short and the hose pipe does not fit proper it is too wide for the tank needs to be a bit thinner to fit tank

Pond pump and filter kit easy to put together only thing you have to but some 2 inch pipe for the outlet but overall a great item many thanks

Please ignore the previous review in my name, my nephew thinks he's funny...but he's not!! The whole system is installed and running fine,

The box arrived quickly and was well packaged. The filter is quite simple to assemble and the UV light easily pushed into the lamp holder on top of the main filter unit. I soon had the pump connected to the filter unit and everything wired up and raring to go. I switched the pump on and waited for the water to clear. Unfortunately, the UV bulb that came inside the box was faulty. However, a quick e-mail to suppliers soon had a replacement on its way (Thank you Perry) and the unit is now working well.There are a couple of things to be mindful of when buying this product. The first is that it does not come with any kind of discharge pipe which means you have to work out yourself how to get filtered water back into the pond. I used a 50 mm length of plastic pipe and some self amalgamating tape to ensure a leakproof joint. The second less minor issue is the supplied pipe does not slide easily over the pump outlet as it is quite a robust pipe and not too pliable. However, a jubilee clip will soon ensure the pipe does not slip off.This is certainly a well made and useful addition to any pond and one I would buy again but please be mindful of the two issues I mentioned.....

Got this to clean up our inherited wildlife pond. After builders covered the pond in cement dust we had a bad algae bloom. We used algae killer and sludge buster and this is collecting the resulting muck from the pond and its now slowly clearing. The only downside so far is that the pump has been too strong for our population of newts. Half a dozen have been pulled into the covering plastic mesh and have died as a result 😕. Otherwise we are very pleased with our purchase.
