This knife arrives amazingly sharp, right out of the box. It has solid weight, a nice thick spine, and a firm handle, making it your go-to knife for just about any cutting, slicing or chopping task in your kitchen. This knife is a workhorse, and when finished, is easy to clean. It'll cut through an entire roast effortlessly, or through a rack of beef ribs. I was skeptical that a knife at this price-point would compare to the "famous cutlery brands" - but this champ is right there with the best of them. Skip the fancy, expensive name-brand knives, and try this instead. You'll save a ton of money, and get a great, everyday knife that should last you for years.

This product is well made and necessary for serious home cooks. I do a lot of food preservation (vegetables, meat, etc) and this product is essential. I buy meat in bulk and break it down for vacuum sealing. This makes such projects a lot easier, and therefore, a lot safer, too. Using the wrong tool will invite injury. Most injuries occur from asking a tool to do more than it is designed to do. A large knife cannot accomplish safely what a cleaver is designed to do. I only use this about eight or nine times a year, but it is worth having.

Verrrry sharp! The absolute best but I am scared to use mine. I got one for my mom and watched her chopped a grilled whole chicken. It chopped the bones like it was a feather. Be careful when washing just a slight touch of the blade will cut you. FYI, it is lightweight so it is easy to use unlike those heavier knives.
