SAMSONQ1U - Dynamic USB Microphone

This mic has a USB connection, therefore you are able to connect straight to your computer/ laptop and use without installing software. It has a good sound quality, with no hissing or popping. It comes with its own cover for when not in use and a small table stand. A good quality mic, especially for the price!

The microphone is great- good audio quality when I recorded my webinair. However the stand which came with it doesn't fit the microphone! Fairly annoying as I had to hold the mic whilst recording!

Before this mic arrived, for lack of anything else, I did a couple of voice recordings with my simple usb mic that I used for skyping.Well, I could hear the difference with this new mic straight away. I felt that with a non-dynamic mic there is a sort of a screen that sets off the sound, while with this mic the sound doesn't have an obstacle. As far as I know, this is an entry-level dynamic mic great for singers, and it does the job really well. It has a nice feel too. Oh, and the tripod stand that came with it was a surprise. There was a small/sack case too. So, overall, good value for money.

I bought this for my musically talented wife so she can record her music onto her laptop. It came with a table mic stand which she finds really useful. Lots of 'brownie points' with this purchase!!!!

This is a great product for Music Producers looking for a quick set up with a laptop or home studio.The quality outcome is great, especially when on-the-go. The price (incl. P&P) is also just right.

Quite impressed with the sound quality for something that was not that expensive. No hiss or background noise. Does the job. Sound as a pound!

I bought this microphone because it doen"t run on batteries therefor no matter when i need a mic it is there always ready to go.I recommend you plug it into the usb port and wait for Windows to install its own driver and DO NOT install the one from the Samson website. Why? cos when i did the sound was poor,low in quality and had annoying pops through the playback of recorded material. If there is someone out there who can use the Samson driver with good results then good for you(there has been a site set up to address these issues)but all i want to do is record vocals and guitar and NOT to mess about all night trying to get the Windows driver back again.Cos when all said and done it IS just a mic !!. It is very well made and a fair weight.The sound is clear and very useable.With a nifty desktop stand..It is much cheaper than say AKG 1000S,though it cannot quite compete (as you get what you pay for i suppose) you could always go for a more expensive Samson usb mic if you prefer.I gave it four stars only because of the hassle though.I diddnt use the Cakewalk but i highly rate their music software. I am glad i bought it.

Used for Skype calls, Teamspeak and some spoken voice sound recording. For my money this sounds a lot better than a condenser microphone, having tried the Samson CO1U and gone back to this.If you can get one at a good price I would recommend you give it serious consideration for desktop use over a headset mic, smaller usb mic or a studio mic.
