Best toothpaste I have used--xylitol is effective.
Summary: Absolutely the best toothpaste available by far; truly amazing at keeping teeth actually clean, and curing mouth ulcers. Can't recommend it enough!Part 1:I started using this product last June immediately following a dentist appointment, so that I could evaluate how things went next dentist appointment compared to when I was using the usual Crest and Colgate toothpastes--no other changes in habit where made (not that such changes could survive 6 months anyways). As I produce a lot of saliva, plaque and tarter were major issues for me since I was a small kid, though I have never had a cavity, and the dentists would be picking at my teeth and scratching up my gums for nearly the whole hour. Not a fun experience to always endure. And I could always feel the plaque on my teeth physically return within a week after a cleaning despite my brushing twice a day, and no toothpaste brand or variety I ever used previously changed this pattern what so ever. However, this past January's dentist appointment (same dentist as before) after six months of this Xylitol toothpaste went like nothing I have seen before. They had next to nothing to pick at! Basically no plaque! In fact, they spent more time polishing and praising than I had ever seen, and my teeth looked great for it. I have never experienced such a good time with the dentist. Even when they did the flossing it wasn't painful and terrible like usual--it was a breeze! It left me flabbergasted. I had felt with my tongue that I couldn't detect plaque this whole time while using this Xylitol toothpaste, but to experience that in an empirical fashion at the dentist where matters are outside my control, was truly eye opening and great! They also took checkup x-rays and found no weaknesses or any problems at all with my teeth or mineralizarion and enamel (they were actually surprised at how thick my enamel is). This toothpaste actually works. It works better than any I have ever seen. Just make sure to get the fluoride variety to keep teeth resistant against acids. The only weakness is since this toothpaste does not have whiteners, it is a little easier to surface stain teeth with tea and such; but, gentle surface scraping with a dental tool removes that completely. Also, using whitening mouth washes seems to deal with that issue, since it is only surface and not actual plaque calculus (for me).Part 2:My roommate started using this toothpaste too at the same time as me (since it is a cheap 2 pack). He had suffered from near weekly mouth ulcers his entire life. A single nick in his month from a missed bite or sharp food object would give him a painful ulcer. However, after switching to this toothpaste, he has had only a single ulcer in 10 months! It is a complete change from his life experience, and nothing has ever affected his susceptibility to ulcer before this. This result was completely unexpected! I had never seen a report about xylitol toothpaste in regards to mouth ulcers. But to cure them is outright when nothing else could is just mindblowing. It makes sense in hindsight, as xylitol has been shown to get rid of bad bacteria (microflora) and help your good microflora take over your mouth (and gut), which is part of how it stops plaque. But as this result was completely unexpected and unlooked for, it has really increased our love of this product.Seems 31% is the minimum amount of xylitol you would want in a toothpaste, so far as we've found. So, I'll be sticking with this brand for as long as I can!Hope this review helps!

Toothpaste with a Fresh Spearmint Flavor and efficient
This toothpaste offers effective cavity protection with added Xylitol, which helps reduce plaque. The spearmint flavor is refreshing without being overpowering. The SLS-free formula is a plus for sensitive mouths, and the twin pack offers good value.

Good
Giving 4 stars for now only bc i just started using it and haven’t really had time to see. Flavor isn’t as strong as I prefer but not a real issue. Seems great so far. Will update in a few weeks.

Better alternative paste for my gum line
I was surprised when I use this toothpaste, that it didn't foam up. I was brushing my teeth with a minty, wet solution. My teeth felt silky clean when I was done.I was using a different Xylitol toothpaste brand previous to purchasing this one, but I believe this one has more Xylitol in it and still has the same amount of fluoride as the regular leading brand toothpastes at the store.Since I started using Xylitol toothpaste, my gums have bled less after flossing, and my dentist has noticed the improvement. This is an Epic save 😉

No fluoride
What I like about this toothpaste is there’s no fluoride, I found that if I eliminate fluoride I don’t have small blisters in my mouth. It also tastes good.

No unnecessary additives
Great toothpaste, healthy and good cost without so many chemicals and dyes like other brands. Cleans well and good for sensitivity.

no cavities
Look Ma, no cavities - as the ads used to trumpet - this toothpaste still can be touted as anticavity as I haven't had a cavity in years - lots of crowns and bridges yes, but no cavities - seriously, it's been a good dry mouth deterrent for the years I've used it.

Used it for years until they changed the formula in late 2021
It still contains 31% xylitol, but I really dislike the new formula introduced in late 2021. See images comparing the original to the new formula. It used to have a pleasantly fresh spearmint flavor but now tastes bland. Spearmint flavor has been moved from the fifth ingredient down to the eleventh ingredient, and now I don’t taste any spearmint at all.In the new formula they added potassium nitrate, which is a nerve-desensitizing ingredient. I don’t have sensitive teeth and I don’t want to be brushing with a nerve-desensitizing ingredient unless I need to.Also, the new formula has a thinner consistency IMO.These changes were made without any notice or reasons given, which is disrespectful of their long-term loyal customers. Is Epic Dental getting bad marketing advice? I hope they bring back the original formula, and separately market this new formula as a toothpaste for people with sensitive teeth. Until then for me the search continues for a good spearmint flavored xylitol and fluoride-containing toothpaste.UPDATE Jan 2022: If you enjoyed the way this toothpaste used to be, try Tom's of Maine "Simply White" or "Wicked Fresh" available on Amazon. These Tom's toothpastes are not watery, have good minty flavor, contain xylitol and fluoride - only the ingredients necessary for a good basic toothpaste. They remind me of Epic Dental toothpaste before they changed it.
