Kitty Toe Bean Scratch Approved
Perfect for replacing the 2ft sections of our cat tree. The rope didn't have the repellent smell, so we felt more comfortable allowing the cats to use it immediately. There was no concerning grease or oil on the surface of the rope either.Thickness: it is slightly thinner than the standard cat-tree sisal rope, but it also looks much better too. Perfect size for scratching posts.Durability: it's been three months of consistent kitty-death-claw rage-scratching, and the rope is holding up better than the sisal that came with the cat tree.Adhesive: I used the hot-glue-gun method for attaching it to the posts (so no nails or staples can poke-out and cut the cat's feet). I glued every fourth strand, and, so far, no strands have fallen down. This isn't a fancy rope, and it's not meant to be. It's exactly what it says it is. For cat lovers, the lack of chemical and chemical smell is important, and this sisal rope met those needs.Kitties give it 5 toe beans out of 5 toe beans. Would scratch again and again.[No cats or humans were paid, solicited, or given free products for this review. The cats were unhappy about this and have since been gifted much cat nip and meat cookies; not by the company of course, but by me, their personal servant.]

No oils or residues, easy to handle with bare hands, safe for guinea pigs.
After researching several brands of sisal rope, I was very worried about the possibility of getting one with oils on it. The product description for this specifically states no oils or chemicals, and was the only brand I could find that stated that. I am very pleased with this! The rope definitely didn't have any oils or chemicals. I was able to handle it with my bare hands (some sisal is very coarse). The 1/4 width was perfect! We used the 50 ft. roll to wrap around and cover a guinea pig ramp out of the cage, four layers around the opening of a hidey for them, and still have enough left over to make 1-2 knot toys. The guinea pigs have no issues walking on the rope ramp and it does not seem to bother their feet at all. They attempted to gnaw on it a bit when it was new, but have since left it alone. We used hot glue with the rope for the hidey opening and it has worked very well.

Smooth and easy to use
I'm using this for the very top part of a cat scratching post/tree that needed something smaller in diameter than the usual 3/8 or 1/2 inch sisal. I'm used to using rough sisal that tends to shed while you wind it, and is generally hard on the hands if you handle it too much. This was a nice break from that. It was smoother, and didn't shed quite so much. I don't know if I was lucky and got a roll that was a little out of the norm or not, but I'm happy. This was one time when winding sisal around wood didn't end up leaving my hands a red mess.

Very nice quality sisal rope!
This is absolutely perfect for re-wrapping the scratching posts for my two cats! It's far less expensive than buying new scratching posts, and is lasting better than what comes on the store-bought posts. If you're using it for this purpose, make sure to get 1/2" or larger, else it'll be difficult to keep in place.Since I couldn't afford a long-length staple gun, I ended up getting horseshoe nails, hammering them in 2/3 of the way, then bending the rest over the top of the rope. So far, the combo is working wonderfully!

Happy cats, happy humans!
I would reccomend this product. Have bought it twice now to repair 2 different cat scratching posts. I've read other reviews on different brands having a chemical odor and/ or an oily rope. This product is neither. I used a hot glue gun to secure it to the post & it worked perfectly. Cats love it! The only negative is the price for 50 ft. As it only covers about 1 post on a cat tree.

Good for covering the cat tree
Used this to cover the rest of my cat tree. Did the job. Product is inconsistent, though. The first roll I bought was thicker than the second.

Just as i was expecting, and no suprises
I purchased this to make some toys for my bird. I had ordered another roll of sisal from a different manufacturer, and i came dark and stinking of petroleum, yet the description on amazon nor the label on the product mentioned the use of anything but sisal. That roll went back, and i found and ordered this roll. Notice in the photo how light colored it is? That's how it should be!I learned that apparently, some manufacturers soak sisal in petroleum, to keep bugs away or something. Whatever it's for, it was no good for pets.So i was pleased when i received this roll, it was light, and smelled juts of sisal and no chemicals. 1/4" thickness is just right for pet toys in my opinion.

Perfect for renovating a cat scratch post.
Our cat's scratching post was done. This sisal rope, plus a staple gun and 20 minutes and we're back in business. Have you seen the price of a new scratching post - stupid to not re-do your existing frame.

Buen producto
Muy buen producto para crear el centro de juego para mi mascota, lamentablemente me llego de 1/4 y no de 3/8 que fue el que yo compre desde mi cuenta. Posiblemente se equivocaron, pero bueno no deja de ser un buen producto ;)
