Electronic Ignition Distributor Fit For L16 L18 L20 180B Truck

Fit as expected.

Bought this for my 620 Truck with an L16 motor. Took it to my mechanic to install it, surprise.... no way to mount it. Cant return it since its past the return date. False advertising!!! Now its just useless junk! It also didnt come with instructions on how to wire it in the event you did mount it.

this is a gerneric distributor and the rotor might not be in the correct position at TDC. Put motor at TDC and see where rotor points with timming adjust plate set in the middle. install the new distributor and see if the rotor is pointing in a different direction near another plug wire. If YES one needs to adjust the plate on the new distributor OR one needs to drop the oil pump and move the spindal(trial and error) till the rotor come out on number 1 plug wire. also the plus red wire when hooking this up will go to the plus side of the ballast resisitor which is usually a black/ white wire.One can find a piggy back jumper contact at the parts store that plugs in the the ballast resistor so one doesn't need to cut the stock end connector off. Thses units need to run with the ballast and stock resistance coil for best and long operation. Do not use HIGH POERED COILS and remove the ballast resisitor. One can find my vedio on youtube ( Hainz Datsun L series. parts 1-6) but I think Part 5 is the distributor section. also one might need a L16 dist cap or a L20 dist cap when one orders a new one as they are different sizes
