It seems well-made, solid metal, not plastic. And we are happy with it. Installing it was interesting. It kept leaking, even with the provided plumber’s tape. Dad went to hardware store & got plumbing putty. Or something like that. Then once it was tightened onto the shower thing, it was not flush. It was crooked, pointing off to the left. Dad was worried about wrenching it to the point of making the existing shower thing leak inside the wall.So, then he attached our handheld shower nozzle to it. It’s rather bulky & this item could barely hold the shower head in place. But it did hold. Will buy a smaller shower head some day.Maybe I will include a picture. It looks a little silly all crooked & all, & I’m sure that has to do with the skill level of the installer! But it does what we purchased it to do.The guy who installed our shower when the house was built was about 6’7” & installed it at a height that would have worked well for him. However, us 5 footers cannot reach it. But now we can & dad, mom & I are happy with this purchase.

I had ordered the shower extension arm from delta and was extremely disappointed. It did not hold the weight of the shower head or hold the angle at all. I searched through many shower extension arms after that to find one with locking gears on both sides and this is the only one I was able to find that was reasonably priced. It cost me 20$ and I could not be happier. It holds the exact placement on both sides because it has locking gears on both sides and it doesn't leak at all! If you are looking to raise your shower head this is the extension arm you need. I promise you, you will be happy and satisfied with you purchase. Don't waste your money or your time with any other brand.

This is a solid product. Thanks to the gear inside the end that connects to the plumbing, once it locks, it is not moving anywhere. Honestly, will not move. The end that connects to the shower head does not have a gear inside but it still locks really well, once locked in place it wouldn't budge. There aren't any directions so I had to come back to the pictures here on amazon, NBD. Mine came with plumbers tape but I had some already, which came in handy. Some people complained that the bar was completely off center, turned nearly sideways, when it completely tightens down. This was my case too. After I panicked and cursed at the sky, I grabbed more tape and wrapped the hell out of the threads with probably an additional six layers. Tightened it down again and perfect fit, straight as an arrow. Wrap, tighten, wrap...until it works for you. Plumbers tape is your friend.

Cost a little bit more, but you receive a product much stronger than the cheaper plastic knock offs. The notches within the swivel joints are a big plus. Doesn't creep downward like my previous plastic one did. Does come with a filter screen that's installed where it attaches to the gooseneck from shower wall. Would recommend.

Wish I had done this years ago. This takes you from the wall of the shower to the middle and head adjustment is very easy. Much more options. Height adjustment as well as head adjustment is a breeze.

The water pressure in my shower dropped after installing this, which I assume is because the diameter of the extension arm pipe is smaller than the shower neck I used previously. The threaded connections are correct at 1/2", but the pipe itself is smaller. I'm going to search for one with a bigger pipe.
