Q: I'm wondering, what's the difference between this and the 700 stand? I already have the 700, and I want this one to use for a slightly larger cymbal.

The 700 stand it Pacific's light weight stand where as the 800 is a medium weight stand. As I pointed out in my review, have one leg pointed toward you especially for the larger cymbals. This way when if you hit the cymbal aggressively it will have less of a chance of tipping over. Good playing.

Q: Can i mount these stands (without the leg piece of course) from my concert series bass drum mounts. will they fit ?

I think so ‘coz The top piece can be removed. But depends your bass drum mount size too.

Q: My grandson's junior drum set has a top hat. The topcoat stand is missing parts to allow the cymbal to stand upright. How to fix?

If it’s just the top you can use it as a ride or crash on it but if you have both he top and bottom you’ll need a high hat stand
