Resilient
It was very heavy, but when the other bicycle is finished from the major overall I will give it a shot for additional layer of security.

Super Strong Disk Lock - Buy It!!!
Great lock for motorcycles. I live in San Francisco and this has been put to the test multiple times. About a week ago I noticed my bike was messed with while parked on the street. Someone tried pretty hard to get this lock off. They attempted to punch the lock, but failed. They used an angle grinder and torch on this disc lock and were unsuccessful in getting through. They did however mess up my rotors and brakes, as well as dropped the bike during their attempted theft.Just yesterday someone else attempted to steal my bike. They were unable to get the lock off, and I was woken up this morning by a San Francisco Police Officer pounding on my door. They said someone was attempting to steal my bike. They found it on a shopping cart being rolled down the sidewalk. The thief was unable to get the lock off and gave up after dragging it a few blocks on the shopping cart. Unfortunately the bike was dropped and dragged and has significant damage and will likely be totaled, but this lock was not defeated!!

Good locks..
I have 3 disc locks, 2 of these and 1 Master; one on each disc. They are very rugged, well made, I don't like that inserting the key must be done just so or it is possible to jam the lock open or closed, nor do I like that a person I know can remove one of these almost as fast without a key as I can with a key. These locks will not deter an experienced thief. They will however slow that thief down to the point an easier target may be appealing.2 on the front and one on the rear behind the saddlebag which by the way is the one most difficult for him to get open. His equipment is very difficult to get between the muffler and the disc.If the thief is not experienced, these locks are almost impossible to get off in any reasonable length of time even with a portable grinder. It is difficult to get into position on the left front to cut the lock body such that it comes off the disc. Not bulletproof, but idiot, drunk, and thief-in-a-hurry proof. Buy 3, 1 on each disc, mark the key and the lock individually so as not to mix the keys and the locks- different keys will almost work in the incorrect lock, and sleep a little better.

Outstanding motorcycle security
The Kryptonite Disc Lock is a heavy (2 lb) stapler-style disc lock with a thick 10mm hardened locking pin. The lock is colored a bright orange to act as a warning flag to a potential thief that "there is a lock on this bike, look elsewhere for easy pickings". The key/lock function has worked silky smooth regardless of the weather conditions. This Kryptonite disc lock is the only disc lock that is made from forged steel (not cast steel) so it is highly resistant to being broken by thieves who use spray CO2 to freeze other disc locks and then break the lock with a hammer. A professional thief will probably get your motorcycle if he wants it regardless of whatever locks/chains you put on the bike, if nothing else they will use a portable lift and pick it up into a truck, allowing lock removal at their leisure somewhere else. However, this disc lock will stop the casual thief looking for an easy target, or simply make them look at another bike requiring less effort to steal; it will also stop the local kid looking to pull a prank or just fool around with your bike.Remember to also purchase a disc lock reminder cable (does not come with lock) to avoid damaging the bike, or you, when you forget the lock is installed and you try to drive off. This will also avoid looking like an idiot in front of your friends or bystanders!

Nice, fairly compact extra protection for your bike.
I'm pretty satisfied with this disc lock. It's fairly compact - fits under the rear cowl of a '15-16 Triumph Street Triple RX or Daytona, for example, bikes with famously little storage room. It fits on the disc of my Street Triple RX well, with a small amount of room left over at the bottom. Narrow disc slot makes it seem like it would be more difficult to get a tool in to break it than the loop-style disc locks by the same manufacturer that I've owned. Pin operates smoothly. The keys have a narrow head so they don't take up too much room on your keychain. It doesn't come with the coiled reminder cable that some disc locks do. However, it's yellow, and that makes it a little more difficult to forget that it's on there. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase.

Can't be seen or heard...
I prefer the u-lock with alarm and the turn signal that came with alarm. Two alarms are better than one!

may have saved the day
well i'm glad i bought this. last night someone tried to steal my motorcycle by breaking the steering column lock off. they left the bike on my patio with this on the disc brake so i'm guessing they decided it wasn't worth the hassle of removing this lock. we'll will see how much the quote is to fix the steering column, but i feel that this lock is why my bike wasn't stolen. although i'm sure that a more determined thief could have found a way.

The Best Lock for the Money
From just looking at the picture, it looks much thinner than it actually is. I thought this would be thinner than my TriMax, but it is just as thick. This lock is also the only one I could find on the market that is forged rather than cast. Cast locks are far more vulnerable to ice-spray, making them easier to break. The lock mechanism is smooth and easy to operate. My only complaint, and it is a small one, the lock is very long. This would make it easier for a thief to cut it off.A suggestion for other riders: I recommend putting this lock on your rear wheel. My reasoning for doing so it that your front wheel is already mostly immobilized by the fork lock. If you only lock your front wheel, then a truck with a small cable lift could pick the front wheel off the ground and tow your bike away. Having both wheels locked would make it harder to steal as both wheels would have to be off the ground or both would have to be unlocked.Lock Dimension:Total Height: 70mm or 2.75 inchesHeight w/o Lock Cylinder: 40mm or 1.57 inchesTotal Width: 31mm or 1.22 inchesTotal Length: 120mm or 4.72 inchesLocking Depth: 77mm or 3.03 inches

Solid steel - not cast zinc like others junk
Hard for thieves to break as it is solid steel !!

Good quality although expensive
Very good. It is ideal if you have a piaggio MP3 because it is the one of the few models that work well with that disc

Does What I Want
It works as I expected, compact & I like the carry case (although I think it would be too heavy to clip to a belt)
