Fisher Price Diego's Talking Rescue Center

We bought this Dec '06 and haven't had any quality issues. After reading about all those recalls with specific date ranges, I am guessing that there are manufacturing consistencies over time, so that may be one of the sources of disagreement on this topic. Also, I do have two very gentle girls (3.5 & 2, the 2 y.o. is more into the toy) so it hasn't had to withstand any beatings. The Rescue Center is definitely the inspiration for a lot of creative play. The girls use other random animal figures that we already had with this. Between the car, helicopter, and animals, there is lots to do. We don't use the cord to slide or the elevator so much b/c it's a little harder to manipulate and I likely need to sit down with them and do it a few times.They ask about Alicia all the time, I'd pay up for an Alicia figure. Right now we pretend Dora is Alicia.We forgot to put batteries in it (didn't realize they took them) and the girls still love it. One day I may go ahead and put them in and see if it becomes a whole new toy for them.

I thought that I was getting a new product but it came used. I'm not sure how I even came about looking at used products and I wanted this for my son for christmas. Some of the pieces were missing and it came in a marlboro light box. I don't mind buying used items but not for $38.

My daughter really loved playing with this rescue center, however the helicopter won't spin anymore when you push the nest. She is usually not rough with her toys and I didn't see how it broke, but after only two days of playing with it, it's a shame. She still loves to play with all the other features of the rescue center and has a blast with the zip cord. She just manually spins the helicopter now. She has the Dora house too and loves going back and forth with Dora and Diego adventures, so I don't regret buying this product.

Is not the strongest of the Diego toys so far. Tons of fun and endless play but also endless cries for reconstruction help. I think the trouble is trying to use the elevator makes them push hard sending the whole thing off the legs. If not that, its when reaching for the helicopter. Its a nice size toy so short stubby handed 2 years old don't always make the reach without knocking something along the way. I do agree with one of the reviewers it should have a sound volume button instead of an off and off button.However, all that does not compare to the endless hours of imaginary animal rescue. Kids are use to toys falling apart and even though I feel for the price this one should had been more solid. I can honestly say the individual pieces are sturdy and so even if it sometimes comes apart it does not break.

Yes, the zip cord falls off a lot. But my kids just put it back on. I have a 4 year old girl and 19 month old girl and they LOVE this toy. Gets hours of play and it stays in one spot, so it doesn't fall apart. I got it for $20 and it was worth that. I wouldn't have paid more for it though.

My 2.5 year old loves Diego, so we thought that this would be the perfect gift for him. For the price, it is quite disappointing. The major problem is that the posts that connect the house to the base do not snap into the base in any way, so if you move the house at all, the base falls off and you have to reassemble the entire thing. Also,the folding ledge in the treehouse falls off with even the most minimal pressure (e.g. just kids playing with the animals on it). Worse, the zip line rests in a nook at the top of the house, but does not snap in, so you have to hold the line in manually so that it doesn't pop out or up when the zip line is being used. Finally, the "belt" that is to be snapped onto the characters so that they can ride the zip line is tough to get on and off for even my five year old. All in all, very poorly executed idea and a total waste of money. The improvements required seem basic and so obvious and I can't believe that Fisher-Price would put this item out in this condition (actually, F-P aren't what they used to be- don't get me started on the Kid Tough Mp3 player....)

My son got this for his 3rd b-day I was a little leary at first because of the reviews but it is wonderful. I would highly recommend for the 3-5 range yes the zip line doesnt stay on but put scotch tape on it and its fine my son loves this Ive had no problems with the legs or anything falling apart. We like it very much.

I bought this for my daughters birthday and she has not stopped playing with it since, i think its must better than the Dora toys she has had in the past as there are animals and she knows them all!! There are lots of sounds and things to do with a helicopter too. I also bought the Diego 4 x 4 which really made it fun as more animals came with it.

This is a brilliant toy for the avid Diego fan. Lots of gadgets to play with along with a good selection of animals. Its brings to life the cartoon and the children can help rescue the animals. Great for stimulating their imagination. Excellent value for money.

Bought this for my 3yr old as a present from his new baby brother when he arrived. Needless to say he was a hit from the start! My son and his friends/cousins love this toy and get hours of enjoyment from it. Comes with figures, a great helicopter that flies round to the music and a zip line that Diego can really slide down - Great!!
