Automotive Refinish Masking Tape 06653, 388N, Yellow Color, Water Resistant, Multi-Purpose, 24 mm x 55 m

I recently used the 3M Automotive Refinish Masking Tape (06652, 18mm x 55m) for a car repainting project, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. This tape really delivers on what it promises. First off, the adhesion is excellent — it sticks firmly to both metal and plastic surfaces without lifting, even in slightly humid conditions. I was impressed that it held its place during sanding and light prep work. The crepe backing is flexible enough to make tight curves and edges easy to tape off, which was a big help around the headlights and trim. When it came time to remove it after painting, it peeled off cleanly without leaving residue or damaging the fresh paint. That’s a huge plus. It also resisted bleed-through better than cheaper brands I’ve tried. Whether you're doing a full repaint or smaller touch-ups, this tape is reliable and consistent. I’ll definitely keep a few rolls of this in my garage from now on. Highly recommended for both DIYers and professionals!

There are many cheaper tapes on the market but when u r in the middle of painting your car, the last thing u want is for tape to come loose. I use the green tape for paper-to-paper affixing but when it really matters, I use the more expensive yellow.

I use this for woodworking projects - This being a lot tougher than the blue and "white" versions. It goes on smoothly - it's a little thicker than the blue and has very good adhesive on it. You may want to leave a little tab or fold for getting it off. I left mine on for a couple of days as I was making dovetails and it was really stuck on there when it came time to take it off. Writing and marking lines show up especially well so very useful in that way too. All in all, it's my favorite masking tape - I'll be buying this again.
