Genuine Ford - Everything in Ford Packaging
If you are going to rebuild your 5.4 L 3V triton engine, then you already know that it is a time-consuming Job, and you do not want to do it twice.I got this kit and I rebuilt my 5.4 3V, and now my engine is as quiet as can be, running perfectly, and throwing no error codes. I also did the rockers, the hydraulic lash adjusters, the VVT solenoids, a high volume Melling oil pump, and a number of other “while you are in there” jobs.I strongly recommend using genuine Ford for the engine internals (with exception to the Melling high-volume oil pump). The build quality, the fit, the finish, and the modifications implemented by genuine Ford are essential for this job. You do not want to mess around with counterfeit or aftermarket on this and you do not want to save a buck because all you’re going to do is have to redo the job or, worse yet, ruin your engine.I purchased these directly from Amazon, from “OEM Select Parts” and the parts were shipped from Beshore and Koller Ford, a dealer out of Manchester PA.

Yes it's OEM!
This kit is shipped from the parts department of a Ford dealership in PA. All parts are definitely OEM Ford parts. They get 5 stars from me, not because everything was perfect, but because something wasn't and the way they handled that. One of the two phasers I received was defective out of the box. It was a flaw that I'm guessing the vast majority of people, including professional mechanics, would never have noticed. Only when I put a scan tool on the truck after installation and checked the VCT Advance Error rate, did I notice the problem. The value on both banks should hover around zero degrees with some variation, but certainly no more than 1 degree at idle. While hovering around zero as it should, one of the two would jump to +4 degrees a few times per second. This did not affect performance in any noticeable way and was not nearly out of spec enough to throw a code. But it wasn't perfect, and for the price of Ford parts, I expect perfect.I called the seller's contact phone number as listed on this site. As I mentioned, it goes to a Ford dealership in PA. I connected to the parts department and explained the issue. They quite happily shipped a brand-new phaser to me via UPS that arrived the next day with a pre-paid label to ship back the defective one. I couldn’t ask for more than that! The replacement worked perfectly. The timing job is done and I’m a happy camper. Also, please don’t be discouraged by the couple of one-star ratings on here that show photos of damaged phasers. Those are very clearly installation mistakes. Those locating pins get smashed and the cam locating holes get beat up like that when the phasers are not seated properly on the cam and/or when the phaser bolts are not torqued properly. That’s not to say that it’s impossible for a genuine Ford part to be defective, as my experience clearly shows, but those particular instances were botched installs.

Replaced Bad Cam Phaser
The media could not be loaded. Bad part, after finding a way to reach out to the company they shipped a replacement. Good experience in that regard. Overall kit is solid OEM parts minus the one faulty part.

Don’t cheap out. Buy the right stuff the first time
Don’t waste your time or money on the aftermarket stuff. Well worth the money.

Buy THIS oem kit. DO NOT buy anything else (details)
These are Real Genuine Ford Motorcraft Parts.Used in a 2005 Ford F150 5.4L 3VI am warning you now, DO NOT, buy an aftermarket timing phaser kit for your vehicle. Only use FoMoCo OEM parts.I just bought this vehicle at 100k miles and it just had this major service done. Didn't last 5k and was undriveable. Opened the engine up, found cheap Chinese aftermarket knockoff parts everywhere. Phasers were stuck in advance. Timing chain guard blown to bits. Chain loose. Tensioners failed. The list goes on.On with the repairs. All the parts I received were motorcraft parts, and many of them are the upgraded versions that ford put out to address the flaws of the original designed parts.Make sure you buy 2 Vct solenoids and swap them out when you do this kit. Make sure you buy a NEW crankshaft pulley bolt . The old crankahaft pulley bolt is a one time use torque to yield bolt and it stretches the threads when installed correctly. It will need to be removed to get into the front cover of engine. Also buy the Melling M360HV oil pump to replace the stock one as it is know to be inadequate. After I replaced everything, plus some routine maintenance, my truck is all back together and running better than ever. I still spent 1000-1500 dollars on total repair depending on what I included as necessary, with all the extra components that should be replaced while your in there and some preventative maintenance like spark plugs as well as a couple tools to help you easily advance in the job.You need to rent a pulley puller tool which was free at advanced auto parts, after I brought it back they refunded me. And I had to buy a 1/2 inch cordless electric impact wrench that had enough oomph to back out the crankshaft pulley bolt. But all in all I saved THOUSANDS $$$ over going to a shop or dealership. Highly recommend.Update 08/23/202010k later and still running buttery smooth! If you found this review helpful, leave a like!Update 12/19/21Still buttery smooth. I am happy to say things are still great. I saved a lot of money doing this repair. I am still happy with the truck that cost me way less than the dealership would have charged me if I let them do the repair. As long as they are still selling FORD fomoco ford motocraft parts this is a great option, and whether you have a qualified mechanic, or do it yourself like I did, you should have great results.

Quality of parts
Ford parts. Only problem was after installation , an error code popped up. The left phaser had a bent cam signal finger. Was alot of frustration to find it plus reteardown to get at it. Don't know how it happened, suspect damaged during manufacturing or shipping. If you buy this kit, make sure you look really close at phasers when installing, save yourself a headache.
