Wild Wings WWCH3 Cedar Blue Bird Box House

I ordered this nesting box in February when I noticed a pair of Eastern bluebirds hanging around. Sure enough, they liked the box and location and proceeded to build a nest. Mama laid 4 eggs and they all hatched and fledged several weeks later. I cleaned out the box and a few weeks later, they built another nest! This time, Mama laid 5 eggs and it all happened again. Several weeks later, when the chicks fledged, I cleaned out the box and, you guessed it, she did it again. This time there are 4 eggs. I live in central Florida and hadn't previously seen many Eastern bluebirds in my neighborhood. l am glad they like the location and that I am helping to populate Eastern bluebirds in my neck of the woods. Oh, it doesn't hurt that I put dried mealworms out as they love them!

I bought this for my mom last February. I attached it around 6 feet up a fence, which was simple to do. It then sat unoccupied for over a year. Not sure of why, and I had forgotten about it, but a couple weeks ago she told me some small birds moved in. Based on her descriptions of them, I think they're Bewick's wrens. She has gotten a lot of joy watching them and as of today, the fledglings are leaving the nest! This ended up being one of my best gifts for her! The birdhouse is well constructed and apparently kept a squirrel or other rodent out that had tried to chew the roof. I'm not sure why the birds were delayed moving in, but it is in a pretty secluded spot, so maybe none of them noticed until now! Either way it makes a fun gift for parents.

Wonderful construction and design make this birdhouse a winner. I like that there is a means to easily open up to clean out the previous year's bird nest.

I bought two houses from this company before and they are still out there in the yard holding up thru many seasons of bluebirds. This June 2025 I purchased two more but was disappointed that the wire mesh screen inside the house that kept the nest off the bottom floor was not included. It was a simple but necessary part for ventilation and cleanliness. I can’t imagine that the 3 x3 piece if screen would cost much but it surely set the bird house apart from the others I’ve seen on the market. Will give it one less star due to this fact. Maybe this will help you make the decision to go back to the original design.
