Solid keyboard backed by even better customer service.
I purchased the RK ROYAL KLUDGE RK87 Sink87G RGB in January 2025 and was genuinely impressed right out of the box. The build quality felt solid, the typing experience was smooth and responsive, and the keyboard back lighting was customizable and vibrant without being over-the-top (even though I only use white). At this price point, it honestly felt like a great value — better than some more expensive boards I have used.Over the next couple of months, though, I started noticing some minor issues — a keystroke would occasionally not register, or it would double-type. It wasn’t consistent, and at first, I figured it might just be me. But the issue slowly became more frequent, and eventually, I knew something was off.I decided to contact Royal Kludge support — not expecting much, to be honest. Maybe a canned response, or a small discount toward a future purchase. What I got instead totally surprised me.Their customer service team was incredibly responsive and genuinely helpful. They didn’t just go through the motions — they took the time to listen to what I had already tried and then offered new, detailed troubleshooting steps that showed they actually understood the product and cared about solving the issue. When that didn’t fix it, I reached back out — and the very next day, they had a replacement unit in the mail to me. No hassle, no arguments, just a clear commitment to standing behind their product. In short: the keyboard itself is great — well-built, stylish, and enjoyable to use. But what really sets Royal Kludge apart is their after-sale support. It's rare these days to find a company that doesn't just make good hardware, but also supports it so well after the sale. That kind of experience builds trust, and it's why I’ll definitely be buying from them again. If you’re on the fence about trying one of their products, I can say from experience: not only are they worth it — you’ll be taken care of if something goes wrong.

Very good keyboard for your buck.
Did I need a keyboard? No. Did I want a keyboard to put custom kittypaw keycaps on? YES.This keyboard is easy to customize, but because not everyone wants to waste their money on keycaps I will say that his keyboard is worth it for the quality alone. It's heavyweight, giving it a sturdy, well-made feel when you type with it. It doesn't slide around my desk like my old keyboard did, and I really like that it stays put.I connect it via bluetooth, and I have not noticed any issues with it disconnecting randomly. I don't notice any lag when using this keyboard at all. I also found that I could replace my keycaps and switches very easily and the custom caps fit well. The backlight took some getting use to. I barely use the backlight function, as I usually type in well lit rooms. You can set it to one color, or rainbow, and it has different lighting effects too.I think this keyboard will be a good upgrade for a beginner keycap hobbyist, or for anyone who likes a sturdy, quality keyboard for a good price.

Solid.
Features: Outemu Brown mechanical switches, NKRO, 2.4GHz wireless, "16.8m" color RGB (courtesy of several lighting effects). What it gets right:* Outemu Brown switches actually feel pretty decent. A connoisseur will know and feel the difference between Cherry MX browns and these, but most people won't notice- much less actually be bothered.* 2.4 GHz with a dedicated USB receiver. I play Apex Legends (Diamond), Rocket League (Champion II), and other games that are highly sensitive to input latency, and thus far have not noticed any additional latency versus my Logitech G810.* USB-C connector for charging.Kinda meh:* Battery life isn't bad, but it's not really impressive either. For a mechanical board with NKRO and RGB lighting, it's about what I'd expect (4 hours with RGB lights enabled and on brightest settings).* Power switch is on the back of the board, instead of on a side or front. Annoying but not a deal breaker.* The included USB-C cable isn't anything to write home about. The bad:* The battery charge indicator is on the left of the spacebar's key switch and only lights up when the board is not yet fully charged or is literally about to die. It's red and not very bright, making it hard to see even when looking at the keyboard. You will not notice it if the battery indicator comes on while you're gaming, and it only comes on when the board is within minutes of shutting off. This board has shut off on me a few times during gaming sessions.* Caps lock indicator, and one other LED indicator on the board are white only. I have no idea what the other LED indicator is for.* This board pings like a muppet. Not sure if it's the empty space between the PCB and the back plate, the backplate and the casing, or something else, but it is metallic and loud. It's especially noticeable with the larger keys (1.5u and larger). If you don't game with a headset, you will notice this out of the box.* RK's app is the purest form of hot garbage, and doesn't even open when I attempt to use it on my primary gaming rig.Overall, I feel it's worth $55. This board performs as expected or better, with its drawbacks mostly only being annoying. The fact that it's mechanical, wireless, TKL, and has RGB lighting far outweighs the issue with the board's charge indicator being nearly imperceptible.
