Horrid Henry's Stinkbomb Paperback – April 1, 2009

this book is a cartoon that my 8 year old loves. the main character is a child who misbehaves without punishment, more like terrible pranks...I was iffy about my son reading and watching this because I didn't want him to be influenced. he thinks the books are funny and understands not to emulate the behavior and pranks...its hard getting him to read so I allowed this series which isn't awful and is actually pretty funny

I purchase and read the Horrid Henry books for my 5 year old grandson. When he visits he loves for me to read to him, and the antics of Henry has him laughing out loud. Horrid Henry is a brat and a troublemaker but things usually work out for him in the end. Horrid Henry is a little stinker, but he does get the interest going in small children. They seem to love him.

My grandchildren all love this book and have the series at home. My 7 year old nice wants her own full series. Great for girls as well even though the title suggests it is for boys. Since I never wanted a girlie girlie daughter I am also delighted. I want the girls to be independent and sensible and have a great sense of humor. There are many other books that are funny and education and fun. Like the Paper Bag Princess, the Practical Princess, Fire Girl and so many of the books by Jean Fritz, James Stevenson I think, Mercer Meyer, Judith Viorst and Patterson?. I've taught 7 children in the family to read between ages of 3 and 6 with the Dr. Seuss books and games I invented. I loved children's books and used to buy them at Goodwill shop near my college. Unfortunately a lot of these great books are out of print. I often bought several copies to give as presents and many to keep for all these children when they have them in their turn. I rarely get them back: I put them on the table in the family room and before I know it I have to buy more. They take them home, on vacation and all great readers. I just looked through and saw that many of these books were by Scholastic or Harper Trophy. Some of the Scholastic Books are out of print. but the Carrot Seed and the Magic Fish are re-issued but the old illustrations pleased me most. so I search for them on web, esp. Amazon second hand books sometimes on Alibris and Portland bookstores and have been able to replenish some. I rarely find something I really like for young children in bookstores that are way too cute to be educational and fun and these classics should be re-issued among many others. The greatest books published recently are the Harry Potter book and my 8 year old grand-daughter is almost finished with the series in no time flat. Hope this works for everyone. the kids don't mind second hand books even if dog eared. I was desolate when Rachel Carson's book about the shore was hard to find pre-Amazon. Kathleen McElroy

My son is 7 and has to read each day for 20 minutes. At first this was a struggle but when we found Horrid Henry's Stinkbomb and the other books in the series, my son is reading for 40 minutes some-days! It has been enjoyable to see him love to read and laugh out loud at while reading these books.

My 8 year old son laughs and laughs reading these books. He says they are really funny. He stays interested in them all the way through. He likes that Horrid Henry does everything wrong. It makes him feel better about himself. Both parents also found the books entertaining and well-written.

My 8 year old 3rd grader reads at a Level M at school and this book is something he can read on his own. He loves the Horrid Henry stories and is motivated to read independently.

My song are happy

Purchased for my 8 year old son, he seemed to enjoy these as he asked for additional stories for his kindle (when I asked him but, he didn't actually equest on his own, hence 4 stars not 5).

Ottimo libro, molto divertente per i bambini che devono consolidare l'inglese. Abbastanza semplice da poter essere letto con gusto, ma non proprio elementare e quindi utile. La spedizione è stata rapida e il libro è nell'ottimo stato previsto per un libro nuovo

Good read !

My aunt gave my six year old son some of these books for Christmas. They saved us at the airport - even if the other stranded passengers had to put up with my reading and my son's raucous laughter. And they were so good a few more pages were an effective bribe for good behaviour. His more advanced cousin sits reading them himself chuckling on the sofa.
