I do not know what all the recent bad reviews are about. They read like uneducated people, or the SAME uneducated person, are/is writing them. Take that for what it is worth. This particular brand of Serrapeptase is the only one that seems to do much for me. Believe me, I like to purchase things as cheaply as possible, so if Doctor’s Best or another brand worked for me, I would buy that instead. However, they do not, and THIS does. I had a vitreous hemorrhage about a year and a half ago in my eye. It caused a spider web appearance across my vision. The eye doc said it may go away and it may not. He also said it would take several years to do so if it did. I started taking this, and it cleared about 80% of it in 30 days. The eye doc was freaked out. I then switched to the other brand and saw no further improvement, so I stopped taking anything, figuring I got as good as I could get for recovery. Unfortunately, the bleed continues to recur. So, I went back to taking this, and it really seems to help. It noticeably reduces the spider webbing across my field of vision each time I have a new bleed.

There are a few diff types of enzymes in this class but I chose Serrapeptase because of its anti-inflammatory properties for my 15 month old knee injury. I took two pills at 250,000 SPU's three times a day. My knee stopped locking and snapping within a week. Goodbye limp, crutch, knee braces, etc. I did have a herx reaction after a week because the immune system goes a little crazy when it sees all the toxins and junk being cleaned out of your blood. My sinus cleared the first night. I noticed a couple of mild blue varicose veins faded and yes ladies...it diminished some cellulite. I've been to doctors for over a decade getting scans, trying meds, trying supplements, trying to get rid of my pain. Using this has been night and day. My pain is cyclical (I'm female) and comes and goes predictably (I've been checked for endometriosis, not that). The pain is all over my body, aches, and fascia tension. Taking this reduces the bad days from an 8 to a 1 or 2, and at worse something manageable with a single tylenol. For reference I take 2 in the AM (before breakfast) and 2 in the PM (before bed). On an empty stomach. Sometimes I feel like things aren't working, or something has gotten out of whack, and I go up to 3 and 3. I will use this pill forever. I feel so much better.

After having completed much research, I concluded that the conjunctive use of serrapeptase and lomatium would be beneficial in keeping my bronchial fields clear of mucus. I initially purchased a different serrapeptase product and took one capsule daily for 30 days with good results. The decision to switch to Serretia was motivated by its capsule made without plastic; plastic is the last material I want to be ingesting in my pro-active health efforts. Once received, I took the Serratia in like manner, one capsule daily in the morning on an empty stomach, and experienced joint/bone pain beginning in the afternoon on the second day. From what I had read, this was an indication that the dose was too high; in my research, one physician who had done much work with serrapeptase vehemently stressed the importance of not taking too much, recommending 20,000 spu's per day. However, standardization does not exist, so a stated dose of (i.e.) 40,000 will in differ in realized dose from manufacturer to manufacturer. My solution was to take one Serratia capsule every other day. This regimen is serving me well without the previously experienced peripheral effects. Calculating the cost of Serratia over the formerly used product, it is costing me a mere $3.00 more per month for the plastic-free benefits of serrapeptase, making me a happy - and healthier - repeat consumer of this product!

I only took one pill a day and it worked to break down mucous. I had to blow my nose constantly. I did not get my usual sinus pressure headaches, but my nose was running constantly. After about three weeks of taking one pill a day and only this pill, I started getting horrible diarrhea and nausea. I didn’t occur to me that it was the pill; I thought I had a bug. After five days straight of throwing up and horrible stomach pain, I stopped taking these. The stomach pain was much better but still there. The next morning I was basically back to normal, which is today. I am so bummed I couldn’t take these because they did break down tissue. Just not sure what damage it did to my gut. Unfortunately, 3 other friends bought this per my advice after taking it for a week. Maybe I was allergic. Who knows?
