No Monthly Fees
I purchased the AirTV Player and subscribed to Sling to replace my Dish TV and DVR. I tried Tablo first and sent it back after a couple of days. Tivo is high up front plus you have to pay monthly fees. Amazon Fire Recast requires Fire sticks and you will have to subscribe to Prime (forever) to use it. Sling Tv
It will save you some $$$ but it is not either user friendly or easy to set up in order to record. You will have to have both the orange and blue plus a add-on external hard drive to actually record and watch at the same time. Still debating if I'll go this route for a guest bedroom or try something else. DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE AIR TV- DUAL TUNER, JUNK, SENT MINE BACK. NOT an air TV player product.

fails and reboots every couple hours
The Air TV player was easy to set up and initially worked as advertised. But it's developed a problem that causes it to stop playing and reboot about once every 90 minutes sometime more often, when watching TV. Meaning that if you're watching a movie you will certainly miss a few minutes somewhere in the middle while it reboots.

Picture quality is very good. But the device is not living up to what it was built up too.
After hooking up the system to the TV. I noticed that the tuner would constantly kick me back to the main menu. It wasn’t so bad at first. But as I have it for almost 2 months now. It seems to be getting worse. It not my internet connection or speed. I have 50mbs. I don’t think I will be keeping the service.

No ota antenna
Never came with the OTA antenna adapter. I do like the box and the interface with sling app

Having trouble recording , but that might be my Hard drive , cause it's older.

not HDCP compliant
My house go hit by lightnting and this was to be a replacement to my old nexus player. My receiver and good TV were also destroyed so all I had to test this out on (at first) was a small old LCD tv. Everything worked good with setup but one I tried to use it with my new receiver and TV I got HDCP error and it just flat out wont work with those devices. It ended up being completely worthless to me so I returned it.
