C 22 018 Engine Air Filter Replacement Compatible With BMW X1, X2, 228i, MINI Cooper, Clubman, Countryman

The MANN-FILTER C 22 018 is the absolute best engine air filter I've used. I install the MANN brand in all of my vehicles now, both cabin and engine air filters. The construction is heavy duty with a sturdy frame and thick filter media that truly captures dust and dirt particles, keeping them from entering my engine. Installation was a breeze on my BMW cars - took less than 5 minutes to swap it for the old filter. You can really see the difference in quality holding this MANN-FILTER versus cheaper brands. The materials are far superior and built to last. I could immediately notice the smoother engine operation and improved acceleration after installation. Plus, my gas mileage got a nice little bump up. This filter needs to be changed every 10,000 miles now and still looks great. With some cheaper brands, I was replacing every 3k miles or less. The extra cost of this filter is well worth it considering the longevity and protection it provides. For the best fit, function and filtration, I won't use anything else now except MANN filters. My days as a do-it-yourself shade tree mechanic are pretty much behind me, but when the dealer pulled the air filter on our F56 Mini Cooper S during a routine oil change and said it should be replaced, put the dirty filter back in the car and then quoted $150 to replace it (including $100 for the ‘labor’) — let’s just say I was livid. [Other less polite adjectives apply, but they couldn’t be used in an amazon review]. I’ve used Mann oil and air filters on our BMWs for many years, so I looked up the Mann part for the Mini — $25; paid about $5 for the right torx screwdriver, and did the job in about 5 minutes. You loosen three torx screws, loosen the clamp on the intake pipe, twist and lift the top off the air box, pull out the old filter, use a brush or a hand vac to clean out any debris that’s in the airbox, slip in the new filter, then retighten the four screws… and you’re done. And you’re about $120 ahead of where the dealer may try to dump you. The Mann filter is perfect fit and equal to or better than the ‘Genuine MINI’ part. Amazon delivers it pronto. It’s a no-brainer.
