Works better than I thought it would!
This stove works awesome! I did buy the multi functional stand that goes on it from the Pathfinder School website. It doesn't leak and get really hot so make sure it on something like a rock or something non flammable. It boils a full Pathfinder stainless steel cup of water in around 11 to 12 minutes. It's super light and perfect for coffee, hot drinks, freeze dried meals, and soups but you could cook eggs and bacon in a small skillet as well, I use a #39 cold handle skillet from the 1800s.. I'm very pleased..

Simple and effective
I love this stove simple and effective. The body doesn't get as hot as the brass versions so with light gloves you can move it around if need be. The one and only down side is you can't use the flame regulator with the pot stand. That being said a simple modification could fix that. All in all I'm more than happy with this little stove and will probably be using it for quite some time.

Generous 3 stars
The burn times, for whatever reason, are VERY poor and while having extra extra capacity is, probably, a good thing, I returned the item. My primary purpose for a alcohol stove is to boil water and the very poor boil times more than out weigh any benefits from the extra capacity. However, I gave it what I consider a generous 3 star rating because I can see that the seemingly lower heat and larger fuel capacity / longer burn time might be useful in certain situations.First boil test I did was 16 oz (2 cups) of room temp water inside the garage, so no wind, and the time was 11+ minutes to boil. I gave the Pathfinder stove the benefit of the doubt and as soon as I could handle burner safely tried same test again and this time it was 8+ minutes. As a check, I then I did the same test again, only this time with my cold Evernew burner. The Evernew boiled the 16 oz of water in less than 5 min. While Pathfinder burner did improve on the second test this was under ideal conditions with a VERY warm burner and at 8 minutes was still more than 3 minutes (160%) longer than the cold Evernew burner. While I didn't run a direct test against my Trangia burner, I know that it generally takes a little longer than the Evernew, say, under 6 minutes to bring 16 oz to a boil. This means the Pathfinder would be more than 2 minutes (133%) longer to boil 16 oz water than the Trangia burner. For me, given other review comments and my own testing, I decided to return the Pathfinder burner and I am going to stick with the Evernew / Trangia alcohol burners which I know work very well and have substantially faster burn times.Note, I had no issues getting the Pathfinder burner to start and its alcohol consumption seemed normal.I also recognize that if your looking for a long burn time or something that burns at a seemingly lower heat, then, maybe, the Pathfinder burner might be something to consider. However, if I need to do a long burn or need lower heat I prefer to use a gas stove over a alcohol stove. As noted above, my primary purpose for an alcohol stove is to boil water and the Pathfinder stove, for whatever reason, does not seem to do that very well when compared to the competition.

Not as advertised
The stove advertised and pictured is the classic stove. What I got was the new smaller stove with out the stand. False advertising and over pricing. I could have bought this stove directly from SRO for 19.99 not 34.50. My recommendation look elsewhere or by directly from SRO.

Big Burner
The reservoir is larger than most. Cook your meal and heat your coffee and maybe heat wash water with one fill. Although heavier than many, easiest to use.

Not good at all:
The stove is hard to light; took me 15 minutes each time to get it lite. A full out door kettle took 20 minutes to boil, ( about 3 cups). Very disappointed in this stove. I'm still trying to see if it needs breaking in? I had 4 burns already, and 15 minutes trying to get going... maybe a redesign is needed. Now I have to try Goshawk new burner....
