The heater makes loud banging sounds as it expands from the heat. I have had other heaters of this type and they have never sounded like they are going to explode. I called the company. The only way I can return the item is to be left without a heater while I return this one and wait for another. They cannot tell me what the noise is or whether the replacement will have the same problem. My only assumption is that the product is not of good quality and is not guaranteed.

I have had this heater for two winters and light use. I went to turn it on today and the gas valve would not push down to light the pilot. It finally did and lit. When I turned it there was a crunching sound and the valve now turns 360 degrees. I shut it off but the pilot will not go out now even if there is no flame. So there is just gas coming out of it and the safety shut off will not work. Very disappointing. A replacement valve is 2/3 the cost of a new complete unit so I now own a different brand.Scary that it could break so easily and just spew gas when there is supposed to be a safety to stop that.

This heater works great in my shop. It has a thermostat so it turns the gas on and off by itself as needed. PLUS the blower motor turns on and off by itself as needed. The blower really helps to spread the heat around. BTW I had a plumber install it. Mine is Natural Gas. My shop is a metal building insulated with spray foam and is 432 sq ft. The heater keeps it nice and comfortable. It was 19 degrees outside and 50 degrees inside. It's in the 60's inside when its in the high 20's outside. That's with the thermostat set at 1.5 (it can go all the way up to 5 if you wish). The metal case does make a popping noise sometimes but that's only because metal expands as it heats up. No big deal. Very pleased!

This heater was a replacement so we have experience operating a very similar model that we used for 10 years.After several attempts and also reading the instructions that are attached to the heater, and making sure the gas line was operating, the ignition never sparked to ignite.Since a cold front was coming through, we did manually light the pilot using a propane lighter and it worked fine.This heater was not returnable.

Once installed has worked perfectly for a year, steady pilot flame, great temperature control with built in thermostat great heat output, heats my 8x12 greenhouse with ease, some condensation typical of non-vented natural gas heaters in enclosed space. Am very pleased with this purchase, bout fan which was separate and had to be installed, easily done.

Meets and exceeds expectations. I bought this to replace a kerosene heater. Thermostatic control is an excellent feature. I can control the temp and conserve fuel. Less fumes, no cumbersome filling process. The auto/manual fan is very beneficial.

Installed this heater in my basement, it doesn't heat up well down here. This heater works great! The flame adjusts lower as the temperature gets closer to the setting. Fan isn't too noisy, but it adds a lot of efficiency to the heater. Great buy!

It is very easy to install and operate. It is properly sized for the area being heated. Absolutely nothing to dislike.
