TRILOGY

This is one of only 6 albums in the world that gets me energized. The beats are driving, the pace is urgent, the melodies are aggressive. The unofficial soundtrack of driving a van through a wall while firing an assault rifle to rescue the president. If I played it on infinite loop I don't think I would sleep ever again.

Not only is the album itself wonderful, but the attention to detail in the packaging is second to none. Covered in original artwork, a beautiful tracklist on the folds, and 3 gorgeous discs laid out inside. I can't recommend this enough.

This is one of the best sounding vinyls I have, the records themselves are heavy & well made, zero errors. The packaging this album arrives in has exceptional artwork in the trifold. It helps that this entire album makes you feel like you're speeding down a dark road in pursuit of a supervillain. What more could you want?

I'm a lifelong metal head... and recently had stumbled into the world of synthwave. I started listening to a lot of Perturbator, GosT, and Dan Terminus... and then I came across Carpenter Brut. Unbelievable. This Trilogy is a MUST have for anybody exploring the genre.

Good music. One of the two best examples of synthwave I've encountered. The other is the Furi video game soundtrack, which features a few tracks from Carpenter Brut.

Great set, don’t particularly like that there’s only 6 songs per disc for the gimmick of 666, but it won’t matter once I rip it to my computer and burn it all to one disc to use in the car. Nonetheless great music

Can't believe I found this LP, usually unavailable outside of Europe. Pretty good pressing, sounds great so far.

I really like the music on these discs however they sound awful on high end equipment..there is no dynamic range..the album clips and is simply way too loud and listening fatigue sets in quickly.. such a shame I would have given it a higher score otherwise

I've been listening to Carpenter Brut since the first EP on Bandcamp. Really great, hard hitting, intensely driving synths. Deserves to be much more well known. The 3 EPs are like three kicks to the face, in a good way. Mastered pretty damn loud though! Right at the end of EP3 I had my speakers on low while I was concentrating and I could hear the high synths fizzing from across the room just from the turntable needle!!! Great box set, although getting the middle record out is a little fiddly. Great artwork too, very eyecatching.

Dug out an old record player and wanted some music to see if what people say about vinyl is right and oh boy they are, it sounds so much better than mp3s or youtube. A bonus is that you get a download code for the uncompressed songs so you can listen to the higher quilty versons without the record if you want.Also for those intested the art for it is amazing and honestly worth the price just for that

Carpenter Brut - aufmerksamen Musik interessierten wird alleine der Bandname des Projekt's ein Grinsen ins Gesicht zaubern, vor allem dann, wenn man weiß, welchen Sound dieses Musikprojekt sich bedient. Denn hier (Überraschung!) trifft die 80 er Jahre Grusel Electro Synthie Ästhetik eines John Carpenter auf die Disco Manie von Giorgio Moroder. Und als wäre dem noch nicht genug ballern Carpenter Brut auch noch eine große Schippe feinsten 80 er Jahre EBM heraus und fertig ist der Cocktail ihrer Retro Show. Klingt jetzt vielleicht wenig innovativ oder gar nach Daft Punk - aber Entwarnung: Auch wenn CB ebenfalls aus Frankreich stammen haben sie mit erwähnten Daft Punk und ihrem Happy Hippo Electro Dance nur wenig gemein. Während Daft Punk ebenfalls sich vor Giorgio Moroder verneigen so zelebrieren CB dann doch mehr die Huldigung des John Carpenter. Natürlich, das ganze klingt nach 80 er Jahre Synth Score aber kaum ein anderes Musikprojekt schafft es heutzutage authentisch Retro zu klingen und gleichzeitig Zeitgemäß zu klingen, ohne sich dann anbiedernd zu geben. In dieser schmucken 3 CD BOX befinden sich die ersten 3 EP s in einer Sammlung und somit hat man insgesamt 18 Songs zusammen, die in vollem Umfang die Originalität von CB präsentieren. Alleine schon bei den Titeln fühlt man sich an die Musik und den Filmen von John Carpenter erinnert (als Beispiel: sei hier genannt: "Escape from Midwich Valley"). Aber eben das macht gerade auch ziemlichen Spaß das ganze zu hören. Songs wie "Roller Mobster, Sexkiller on the Loose, Meet Matt Stryker" strotzen nur von Zitaten zum Namensgeber. Dann gibt es hier mit Songs wie etwa das großartig ballernd treibende "Turbo Killer", der absolut Club taugliche EBM Kracher "Wake Up the President" oder das eindeutig Moroder infizierte "Disco Zombi Italia" weitere echte Perlen gut gemachter Elektro Musik die, wie gesagt, trotz vieler Zitate und Huldigung genug Eigenständiges bieten. Zudem ist das ganze so herrlich "Un Mainstream" und geht (bis auf eine Ausnahme!) komplett Instrumental auf die Ohren und Tanzfläche los. Naja, es gibt schon Fragmente von Vocals die sich in den Songs tummeln, wobei man sich da fragt ob dieses "verfremdete" Vocals sind oder doch die Ergebnisse der elektronischen Spielerei. Ist aber auch egal letztendlich.FAZIT: TRILOGY ist eine Sammlung die definitiv Spaß macht und das Teil läuft hier in Dauerschleife. Wer Freude an kalten Synthetischen Beats und einer guten Prise 80 er Jahre Electro mitsamt Catchy 80 er Jahre Disco Sounds (nicht abwertend gemeint!) hat, dem sei dieses Album wirklich nur ans Herz gelegt!
