Works great and I absolutely love this fireplace.

Replaced very old gas logs with this unit. Easy to box in opening to fit new fireplace. Heats better than gas logs as all the heat went out the flue. This unit provides mild heat to the room where it was needed. Highly recommend this company for the quality and realistic looks.

I spent A LOT of time over a period of weeks searching online for an electric fireplace. Finally, I went into a fireplace store and looked at a couple of dozen models of artificial flame log sets. Ironically, the one I thought was the most realistic -- especially for the price -- was this one. I got a better deal on Amazon, so ordered it from here. I paid a bit more than $600 for it and love it. Ironically, it performs better than other Dimplex models that can literally cost a couple of thousand dollars or more. Friends who have seen my set are so impressed they have say they are ordering their own. So save your money and get this one! One minor complaint: It does make a soft grinding sound as the flame operates. You don't notice that unless it's quiet in the room, but you can definitely hear that. They need to improve this.

We are very happy with the purchase of this electric fireplace, we read the other reviews and chose this one. It was a little bit more $$ then some of the others but you get what you pay for. The flame is very realistic and the best that we have seen, and the clear crystal stones change colors based on the selection. My wife added starfish for the nautical look since we live on the water. The heat output is the max. for a 120v unit and is quiet. Also like the the temperature setpoint is digital, would high recommend.

the heater doesn't work

Couple of issues as the remote was dirty and on box control cover made me think the was used previous but rest of unit clean. Real issue is the front glass seems to not have a way to attach at bottom. So flops if bumped. Seems very unsafe. If I was not having this in a spot we're the bottom can't be bumped or or pushed up. I would have returned. Outside of this the flames do seem real. There is a slight noise when unit runs(flamesonly).

I seldom write a review, but the Dimplex Electric Fireplace is worth my time. It came just in time for the holidays. Makes our family room so much more warm and inviting. It's very realistic, super easy to install, added enough heat to take the chill off the room, great fit in my fireplace. Replacing the battery in the little remote is kind of a pain. The batteries are more expensive than the regular battery, but it's a small concession for the beauty of the fireplace.In short, I love it and it is well worth the $$$!

I have always had a fireplace or woodstove. I don't have one in my current house and am 70 yrs old. I realized I can't live without one! I got this one and love it! It keeps me warm, I can stand in front of it to warm my behind like I would a real fireplace. ; ) The flames are a bit 2 dimensional until you step away and they become more authentic looking. I installed it myself into a corner cabinet, needing just a bit of metal mesh on either side to hide the 2" spaces where it didn't fill out the distance. Just having the flames on without the heater is very comforting, oddly. I feared it would be tacky, but tech has come a long way. I also bought the crackle box, which was a waste of money. It sounds like a roaring fire.
