Great for hobbyists and professionals alike!!!
I am super impressed with the 878D! As a professional electronics technician, I was looking to purchase a soldering station for home use. After reading initial reviews I decided to purchase this model, and I am happy I did!The heat gun works great for a ton of applications. I recently used it to remove some sales stickers from DVD cases, and I worked just fine. Having multiple nozzle attachments is a plus! The actual iron comes with the standard tip already installed, and a package of 5 others for swapping when necessary (this included 1 standard tip replacement, and 4 other unique tips). The temperature control was accurate and precise, and it heated up quickly.Overall, this station would be a great purchase for hobbysists and professionals alike. I wish I had this model at my day job!!!

Don’t buy.
The heat was not accurate and it produced a weird smell. It also started smoking and Dident work again after about an hour of use. Do not buy.

Pretty good value for the money
The 875D looks pretty sharp out of the box and with all the accessories, makes it a true value. It comes with a detachable three-prong NEMA cord. Also has a ground strap plug in the rear as well. First test, I checked the hot air blower metal end to ensure it's grounded - and it was. Last thing you want is to short out something on a board.Solder iron comes with a tip pre-installed, and a small bag with various other tips that can be swapped out. Initially tried out a few of the other tips in the pre-packaged bag. None of the extra tips would fit properly under the sleeve and lock nut. Appears the bag of extra tips are longer. Also, the sleeve is supposed to be rounded a bit to apply some clamping force to the extra tips. The extra tips were narrower as well and would easily just fall off the soldering iron. I ended up taking a hammer and rounded out the folded edge of the sleeve using the flat area of my garage vice. However, I still had the issue of the extra tips being too long. I couldn't not get the sleeve nut to seat because of this. I ended up using a dremel rotary cutting bit to shorten the metal seat on the soldering iron. Problem fixed. I also found that there was too much slack within all the tips and that of the solder iron heating element. I solved that by wrapping the heating element with a few wraps of aluminum foil, so as to help the heat transfer. In the end, the product works greats and does what it needs to do at the price point. Seller included a support card right at the top of the package when opening it. It's clear they want to address any issues, and I have no doubt they would have. However, I love hacking and resolving issues myself when I can.I attribute the minor issues I had with that of these soldering irons and blowers being off-the-shelf items that are used across many different low-cost soldering workstations. However, the seller may want to check with the provider of the extra tips to ensure they fit properly.11/14/2020 - After using it about once every three months since purchase, the hot air gun stopped working. I ran 12VDC to the motor in the gun and the fan turned on. However, it does not respond when plugged into the unit. I suspect the issue lays with the circuitry within the main unit.

Pretty Awful.......
Probably the worst instructions I have ever had the misfortune to read. Unit looks very nice, comes with a lot of extras. Problem is, the digital readout shows the temp of the blower, but not the soldering iron. Could be I got a defective one, but quality control should be better. Won’t buy this brand again, should have stuck with Weller......

Works fast but not the best quality
My brother bought me the 878D Rework Station for Christmas, and today I had my first experience using it. The iron and hot air gun works extremely well and heats up quickly, but after using the medium sized nozzle for the hot air gun, I was unable to take it off. The instructions say to let everything cool down, as I did, but when I tried to get the nozzle off, the entire shield that holds the heating element spun and snapped plastic tabs inside of the gun and almost shearing off what I believe was a ground attached to the shield. I then tried to use two pliers (one on the shield, one on the nozzle), but still couldn't remove the nozzle and ended up denting both parts. Kind of disappointed because I liked the station so much. I'll be getting ahold of customer service as soon as I find the contact info.

Excellent Product
Finally had a chance to use this and it has worked great! It's nice having the heat air blower on the same station for doing heat shrink. So far, so good!

Great quality and Value .
Very worth the money. I use the soldering iron really often and it works great and I appreciate the extra tips. And the hot air gun also works great for when I need to mount smds. Would recommend. Just keep in mind that the led display only reads the hot air gun temperature.
