Awesome kit, fun to build
After months of trying to resurrect my old Radio Shack Desert Viper and having it break every single time I went to use it after replacing nearly everything I finally gave up and decided to order a kit.I'm glad I went with this one, almost all of the parts are metal and unlike the "Ready to Run" version of the SCX10 II the kit comes with an all metal transmission. I was able to swap over all of my upgraded electronics from my old build to this one and I was thrilled to see that the old Desert Viper body shell actually fit on this thing. Now I get to have my childhood retro RC car back but with a modern, reliable platform that doesn't constantly break. My only complaints with this kit is that the car is incredibly slow when stock but it has a massive amount of torque for crawling and can easily shove chairs, furniture, stacks of wood out of the way. This kit comes with the LTX transmission and isn't compatible with the 2 speed upgrade kits that are sold which kind of sucks. I ended up putting in a Titan T12 motor and a 17 tooth spur gear which really made this thing way faster.

Great Kit!
This was my first time assembling a crawler from a kit. The process took me about 16 hours, taking my time and trying to follow the instructions as well as possible. The hardest part for me was the shock assembly. My advice to anyone who decides to build these shocks is to get a pair of vice grips to hold the rod when screwing on the end mount. The other hardest part for me was putting together the suspension links, my advice for that is to use 2 small screwdrivers to turn the link ends. Overall it was a fun build and wasn't to hard. I also want to add that I've heard a lot of people say to buy expensive hex screwdrivers so you don't strip any heads. Well I just want to say that I used a cheap set of hyper tough hexes from wal-mart and never stripped one screw. I have a picture of what I used, it worked fine for me. I would recommend this kit to anyone who wants to build a crawler from scratch with their own body, wheels, and electronics.

Easy build
My first kit and was super easy to build, directions straight forward with everything labeled. I would buy again for another build

Instructions are really good. Metal frame and sealed bearings
Shocks are crap. Don't put any thicker oil then what they give you otherwise they won't work other than that really good kit alot of metal parts and the instructions are pretty good. Every thing seems strong except the shocks. So get you some big bore shocks and your good.
