Q: If painted, would cast iron products hold up (not rust) if used on an outdoor porch setting?

The only way I've been able to paint iron pipe and keep it rust free is with specialized surface prep. First I remove the protective grease coating with Dawn or Dirtex. When 100% dry, apply a RUST NEUTRALIZER as a primer and then paint. When I've used rust PREVENTING primers there are inevitably stains that pop up around joints and threads. Iron really wants to rust and starts as soon as the grease is gone, so I've learned to just know the molecules are already there and use the neutralizer at the start.

Q: What size shelf for this bracket? I have a shelf that is 5 1/2 wide will the 5 1/2 bracket fit?

I would uSE 8" by the time you srew the pipe in on the threads you may lose 1 1/2" make sure you take the paint off the threads

Q: I need 5 total, is it possible to add one to this set or to add a single on separately?

I am sure you can buy them separately.
