Cleans even old ink off nibs like nothing else!
Love this for cleaning calligraphy nibs! On the rare occasion, I will forget to clean my nibs until the ink has dried (I know, shame!). I just soak the nib in this cleaner and swirl it gently, which lifts the ink amazingly! Such a great solution for cleaning ink.

Great mild pen cleaner
I have a fairly large fountain pen collection. I love writing with all of them and regularly change pens and inks. The challenge is always how to clean them. I use a water flush to start and that usually does the trick. If the ink has been sitting a while or is a tenacious color I have a small ultrasonic tank. But sometimes even that will not work. So I ordered a bottle of this product. There are three main benefits to using this pen cleaning solution:1. It works! I soak the nib & reservoir for 20-30 minutes, flush, then repeat. This works every time. I usually use a small glass (shot glass) for this. I haven't even needed to put it in the ultrasonic cleaner yet, that's how good it is. The ink gets removed and the metal looks wonderful.2. The product is nontoxic! That's a great benefit as I'm not worrying about retaining the fluid, worrying about pets or kids getting into it, etc. The fluid is colorless and odorless.3. A little goes a long way. I've cleaned about a dozen nibs and have used maybe 10% of the bottle.I plan to order another bottle when this one runs out. Overall a great value and a great product!

It cleans like a dream
I have been using this Speedball Pen Cleaner on my fountain pens for over two years now, and I must say that it makes cleaning my fountain pens that much easier. I first flush with water, then soak in water, then flush with the Speedball cleaner, and another quick water rinse to clean the nib out. Speedball cleaner has no issues with permanent inks (think Noodler's) and easily cleans us tradition non-permanent fountain pen inks.As a testament to its quality, I had a friend give me his Jinhao that he had left inked for several months with the cap semi-off. There was quite the crusty scab of dried ink on the nib and in the feed. I tried just h2o to start, but to no success. I soaked the nib and feed in the Speedball cleaner overnight, and the dried ink just washed away with water. I had to disassemble the nib and feed to get a good cleaning, but had I not had the Speedball cleaner, the nib may still be soaking today.

Works great on pens. Also works well on getting most fountain pen ink out of everyday clothes.
I bought this fountain pen cleaner because of a negative review on Amazon saying the cleaner I had decided to buy destroys fountain pens; they recommended this cleaner instead. One negative review was enough to convince me to buy the Speedball pen cleaner because I was buying it to use on my father's Parker 51 fountain pen I'd recently inherited to try an clean out dried ink and hardened pigment that had been sitting in the pen for over 62 years. It took me about 3 months of regular gentle cleanings and eventually getting up the nerve to fill the pen bladder & let it soak overnight for quite a whil, but am I ever glad I read that review! Today my father's pen writes perfectly. I enjoy using it every day. And I guess the side-effect of all the researching I did and all the cleanings I did, and the joy I discovered the first time I was able to write with the pen has left me with a new hobby - fountain pens and bottled ink!The only reason I gave Speedball 4 stars instead of five was because I'm assuming by the sudsing of the solution that non-sudsing ammonia was not used in the cleaner. That's OK for most pens but for some, especially the Parker 51, is a real pain to flush all the suds out of the pen with water.

Makes antique pens brand new!!!
I had a longer review but when I went to take the picture it deleted everything! I dislike eBay's review system because this happens a lot! Anyways, made a Mabie Todd lever fill brand new and cleaned out a noodler bulletproof in about four fills and pours! I'm very impressed with the quality and although has a slightly sticky feel to it, it doesn't have a bad odor or anything like that. It came with a seal underneath the cap, and the cap itself has an ingenious spout that guarantees the liquid doesn't pour out fast. I had to use a generous amount for a lever fill, and I was happy that even after using it didn't even look like I took anything out of the bottle! It's a copious amount, and between the oz + the price + great quality, it's the best deal online! Definitely worth it!

Worked as expected!
I'm new to fountain pens and was having difficulty getting residual ink stains out of a cartridge. I soaked it in this solution for a half hour and wiped out the inside and outside of the cartridge with a Q-tip. That was all I needed! Now I'm waiting for it to dry and will fill with a different ink.

Wow is all I can say!
I love to use fountain pens but sometimes they get put away for a while and are hard to clean. I've tried all kinds of solutions that I have read about and they never got it right. I thought I'd try Speedball 16 and I was amazed at what the liquid looked like after having the tips sit for just a few minutes. In some cases it looked like the actual ink I had used in the pen. I've only tried to write with one of the pens that I cleaned but it worked fine. You won't believe how clean this gets the tips. I will buy this again.
