As Good As When I Was a Kid.
I grew up in New York and as second-generation Italians we did all of our shopping in Corona, Queens or Little Italy. Since moving to Ohio it has been almost impossible to find a really good Italian cheese. When you do find it, you have to mortgage your house to buy it. I decided to give this a try and was not disappointed! It's a little bit softer than the pecorino Romano that we got from Phil's Lattecceria years ago but the taste is every bit as good. Sharp and creamy and the price can't be beaten.

Good Cheese, Terrible Shipping
This is good cheese, and the price is fair. I have no complaints about the quality. But when you ship cheese on a three day trip in the spring / summer, it needs more than ONE cold pack and a simple thermal bag. I'm sure, as a hard cheese, it will be fine, but I don't like cheese that arrives with oil seeping from it. Add a couple of bucks to the price and pack it better.

Really good pecorino romano.
I thought I was crazy for ordering a costly cheese on-line. However, a good pecorino romano is hard to find. This tastes so good, is fresh and grates easily.

Cheese Sleaze
Watch out for Amazon with food items. The web page said 3 pounds, unit cost 1.06 per oz. The delivered cheese was 2.1 pounds which equals about 1.50 per oz. In the future, I will never buy food items from Amazon. You never know how much you are going to get, or what the expiration date is. You are better off getting this type of item locally. As for the Pecorino Romano cheese, it stinks, and I don't mean that is a good way. All salt and no flavor. Alma Gourmet and Amazon is a bad combination.
