Works with ISTA and INPA
This was the one recommended by the BMWDoctor Youtube channel, so I got this one. There maybe others that do the same thing for cheaper, but since this was one specifically recommended, I decided not to roll the dice and just got this one.The cable has a pretty solid feel and has the jumper switch to change between K-Line and D-CAN interfaces. Didn't use the software on the disk provided, but instead downloaded the aporopriate VCP drivers from 'ftdichip.com' (homepage for the FTDI chip advertised as being used by this cable).If you have a copy of ISTA or INPA, this cable works with them both, just follow the instructions for configuring the Ediabas and COM ports (BMWDoctor has a video about this too)

Buy this for the cable not the software that's free anyway
Cable is amazing o would of fried a cheap copy. I had to download the software from somewhere else as the instructions on the cd didn't match up. It's still 4 stars because the cable is really good.

Good cable but no software
Great product but comes with software on CD not on a download link. Laptops don’t have CD slots these days, so I’ve just got a cable no software!

Defective after just 6 months and VERY limited use
It has developed an intermittent loose connection after just a few uses! I go to plug it into the car and the red light appears, showing connection. Then after about 10-15 seconds this light goes off. The scanning tools show a disruption in the connection. Very poor. I can't contact the seller to notify them of my issue, and Amazon don't want to know because it's a third party seller!

The media could not be loaded. Dvd disk had a crack line and unable to be read on PC or laptop video and a photo has been added as proof..One that work would be good and sent without causing and problem

Does the job, but long winded.
This is a cracked software. I believed the software to be open source.You have to install 3 versions I'm order, copy some files over some other files, manually setup the driver, change settings in a couple of files, change settings in the driver.Then you need to know how to speak German or go on YouTube to find the settings needed.But on the plus side I can now start my car.
